Too bad that's what Mitch is shooting for.

Let's not kid ourselves, if New Orleans had oil jobs and less "scary" minorities, but same culture, these Houston baws would be living there and jizzing themselves over it. Most of them are just LSU grads that had no choice but to live in Houston, so they try to convince themselves Houston is cool

Nola can and should do more to address the structural problems we all acknowledge exist, but I think you can do that without turning into another cookie cutter corporate playground
indeed, there are clearly issues that i am not too optimistic about ever being properly addressed
but i certainly enjoy the charm of nola and the uniqueness from the small city feel.

The population can't grow when the city is geographically isolated by a lake, river and canals. The same can't be said for the sprawls in Texas

Seems it's growing in areas that weren't thought to be livable by most. Good luck to them, but it'll be a process. Bama and Tex plates are all around in new homes with the 750K+ price range.
Oil, medical, where are they working?

That's basically what you have to do when you live there . "Hey at least we ave top golf, economic prosperity, and ethnic food options!"

And what does Nola have to harp on? "Brunch and jazz bro!"

There's a lake and canals so you need to adjust your expectations accordingly

You voluntarily saw "Girls Trip" over "Dunkirk"
You are fricking trash and so is your wife. Gross.

Well the population of the city proper was 250k more 60 years ago; that argument doesn't work. Land area isn't a limiting factor at this point.

It's ghetto. Most chocolate cities are.
