it's not guaranteed but likely. the obligations of that business aren't just going away

sure there are some who aren't in long-term leases or with outstanding debt, but those are the ones holding on who will get wrecked with the 2nd lockdown

it’s going to create stagflation because will will print even more money to subsidize everyone’s existence and unemployment is going to skyrocket once more

And as I’ve said many times, I’m genuinely concerned about the American dollar’s longstanding position as the international reserve currency given the possibility that we simply print out way out of this mess. The digital wallet popularized in China is poised to threaten the international banking landscape eventually and this might expedite that trend.

Y’all realize he’s posting as a leftist so he gets responses ?

I think he believes parts of what he’s saying but he does know what particular things to say to get the most bites. He may be navie but he can’t be nearly as naive as he’s been acting since his return. Especially given his other posts on leftist issues.

tinfoil hat time, but it certainly seems like china has the most to gain from CV19. crazy how that happens

they're buying up distressed assets and companies in the West while making moves to upset the reserve currency status

I think it’s just a fortunate coincidence for them, sincerely.

But I definitely think, as this thread indicates, people have an incredible and unfounded hubris about how much external stress the American economy can take without feeling large scale depression. Most of the business debt in this nation pre-COVID was rated BBB and below because people were leveraging hard because we believed in this economy. These people are going to be absolutely fricked as their businesses close and many of them will be forced into a Chapter 13 or equivalently bad outcome.

It would only be tin foil if you also believed China intentionally created and released the virus.

It’s not tin foil to say China is the winner of all this in the end

Yes, I too look forward to losing yet another year of my late 20’s while I sit at home alone feeling hopeless, alone, and trapped in an endless loop of isolation, depression, frantic failed attempts at self-improvement, coping through over-indulgence, and self-pity that has consumed my life as all of my hobbies and social activities have been canceled and all potential avenues for career mobility and/or advancement have been stripped.

I will continue to persist, begrudgingly, as I always have: looking forward to a better future that will never arrive, while doing anything possible to escape from my present, thus insuring the future is always more of the same.

When you fail, there is no “opting out” of the life that comes after. You don’t get a clean slate to try and start over.

There’s only 3 ways to “opt out” of society, and that’s death, homelessness, or prison. Otherwise, no matter how big you fail, you have to keep limping along for a long time to get back to a state of relative recovery and normalcy. Rock bottom isn’t the end, just the beginning for entrepreneurs.
