Thousands do it every year without these consequences. It's rough, but unfortunately incidents happen. Teach your kids survival skills, morals, and ethics, but at some point they will have to be adults. I work with kids just entering the work force, and you'd be shocked at how unprepared they are for life.

That's dumb. Mexico has some beautiful areas and some bad areas. So does America.
I used to go to Torreón in BFE Mexico once per month for business. Cartel operates all around there and the police trucks look like this. Some with gun mounts and some just like this with a dude with a rifle riding around in the back.
Still not as scary as walking around certain parts of NOLA or when I was staying downtown NOLA after Hurricane Laura and there were gangs shooting over street corners.

with or without the Natalie Holloway story this would have never happened in my family.

We were just in Isla Mujeres a few weeks ago and some cartel members rolled up on a beach and accidentally shot a kid in Cancun at a resort.

I went to an all inclusive in Cancun for a wedding. We spent $4500 after airfare. 3 freaking days and $4500 for subpar food, small cups of booze, and meh service. Beach was gross too.
There’s just no value to it anymore. I can get a nice condo in Destin for a week for that price.

I own a house in tulum. I go all the time and so do friends. Have never once had an issue.
