Do you think they go around and show their stash to their buddies and it eventually gets out? Do internet search companies report their illegal activity? With the recent bust out here on the Northshore it got me thinking how do people actually get busted for having this shite? Seems like it would be hard for the police to even know someone was in possession of it.

They track the files by what is a called a Shaw value. If they know the shaw value they can track it anywhere.

How do these people get the child porn material? Seriously, it seems pretty disturbing to think about how someone might go about getting the material, but there are some sick son of a bitches out in the world.

Peer to peer sites like lime wire and winmx. Unfortunately sites like that can affect innocent people. Avoid those and any other site if you're looking to download anything. If you hit the download on a file that you are not 100% sure is legal, you can get into big trouble as intent is not a defense.

Reminds me of a time I was talking to my old roommate who knew a lot about the deep web and browsed the Silk Road often. Basically he said people that dig into the wrong places on the deep web as in places the government doesn't want us looking, mysteriously ended up with child porn on their computer. Sounds conspiracy-esque but it also makes sense.
