The yeti hype and price is ridiculous, for sure, but my roommate does the pre-cooling shite that they tell you to do, and his holds ice for fricking ever.

Also got a Yeti cooler as a gift.
It works fine, about like my Igloo.
The only difference is the Yeti is twice as heavy when loaded with ice and beer. Might hold the ice a little longer, but not the magic be-all, end-all.
Did I mention it is heavy? As hell?
Not a big issue until you have to haul it from the car to the beach. Then, I wish I'd brought my Igloo.

did you pre-freeze your water bottles?

pre pre pre what??

i'm not pre-doing anything. this thing gets drinks & ice dumped into it 20 minutes before we load the car

this is already getting too complicated.

i admit i threw away the instructions..i figured you just put ice and drinks in it.

buy a freezer, fill yeti up with water bottles, then fill yeti up with water, stick entire yeti into freezer for 72 hours, it'll be a yeti block of ice. go to beach, 7 days later your water bottles are still chill.

I feel like YETI doesn't solve a problem for me.

By the time anything may start warming up in any cooler I have, I've long gotten past the point of giving a shite.

You need a walk-in cooler or freezer to store the yeti in while not in use. You may be able to get by with a larger chest freezer and a medium sized yeti.

frickING HELL it is. the igloo is at least twice as big and even loaded with ice & drinks and not using the 2 wheels i can carry it down to the beach with ease.

the yeti is like a rectangle-from-hell that makes a permanent bruise inside your fingers from that damn metal carrying bar.

You mean you don't have a walk in freezer?

Just buy lots of ice like the rest of the poors.

We work in the restaurant business, so typically he just throws it in the deep freezer for a day or two

I'm not sure how to do it otherwise. One of the board's yeti-ologists will be happy to weigh in, I'm sure.

FYI...When your Rubbermaid blue ice things turn to liquid, don't drink them.

I don't own a yeti because it holds ice longer. I own a yeti because it's indestructible.

Enjoy buying a new igloo when yours shits the bed because uncle Larry decided to sit on it at the Easter BBQ.

If you're using it as a "back-of-your-pick-up beer ice chest" or a "lake day party barge drink holder" there is no benefits of a yeti vs. normal cooler. It will not hold ice any longer than any other cooler that you open the lid up on constantly.

I've got two 65's and I bought them because I was tired of tearing up cheap ice chests. I can't stand an ice chest with a lid that falls off, or broken handles, or any of that shite. So for me the yeti is worth it just to not have to deal with that crap.

and you have to have an inverter or generator on your F-250 to run the freezer that keeps the Yeti cool as you're driving
