If something "takes time" to get addicted to, it's not really addicting.
Again, there's a difference between being physically addicted to a substance and someone who does it because they enjoy it.
What about porn, video games, exercise, junk food... all of these things can be considered "addictive" by your definition.

This is my point. Marijuana is as addictive as any other "fun" activity out there.

So let's also outlaw alcohol because people drink and drive. Outlaw Xanax too for the same reason, oh and every painkiller out there.

I quit smoking cold turkey when I knew I was ready. No gum, no patches, etc.
