I'm more of a mountains guy. I'd love to live somewhere where I could regularly kayak, fly fish, hike etc and where it's not hot as balls half the year.

what you should have learned was there are varying degrees of circumstances of enjoyment. as a parent of kids of any age there is no relaxation as you are watching for sharks, rip tide, wandering into peoples fishing lines on a pier, jellyfish or worse stings.

If you are older or w/o kids, reading a book, people watching, is very enjoyable.

I was raised by the ocean and water but I still appreciate beaches all over the world.

A tent instantly creates a home base that everyone can congregate under. Put some big beach towels and coolers under it and there you go. Beers and water and sandwiches and chips are good to go.

From there just run around and frick shite up.

This reads like a Grand Isle beach trip

I actually agree with you when it comes to a beach vacation. I get bored after a few hours.

But we live within 45 minutes of multiple beaches. Waking up and going to the beach, then grabbing some lunch and going home is a great way to spend a Saturday.

For everyone saying it’s HOT.

That's why we go late may through early June. The breeze can almost always make it feel fine.

Does the OP realize that there is a lot much to do when you go to the beach other than just sit on the beach all day? It's a vacation.
Golf, tennis, parasailing, fishing, state parks nearby, bike riding, cheesy kids stuff, ziplining. If you do it right, some of the bars and restaurants are enjoyable on the waterways.

It just happens to be centered around lots of relaxing times at the beach as well.

What’s funner the freezing murky water or the stubbed toes from the rocks?

I mean, that’s absolutely nothing like the beaches we go to, but ok?

Oh I definitely enjoy that stuff as well. But the gulf has been my sanctuary throughout my life, from a redneck young kid to an arrogant wanna be elitist postgrad to a redneck 30+ year old

I honestly just think I’m too ADD for the beach. I really enjoy it for 3-5 hours, but then I’m just ready to actually do something. That’s why beach day trips are the best.

Yeah that makes sense. Every group beach trip I’ve taken ends up with some of the people chilling on the beach for 12 hours a day and the rest of the group bothering us to go do stuff in town

I don’t think he does.

He sounds like a miserable lazy dick who goes along with what his family is doing and then complains nonstop because he’s hot and refuses to move.
