Im discovering that my memory of some things is drastically different than the reality which it has become. Like seriously out of whack.

For instance, I found silverchair frogstomp in a stack of old cds the other day and was excited to rediscover such a great album again.

Only, now it sucks and I can’t figure out why. It didn’t used to suck. Not as far as I remembered anyway, but I couldn’t force myself to listen to it. Skip, skip, oh yeah that one song, skip... I thought the music of your youth was supposed to stick with you or some such nonsense?

Met a couple at a bar tonight and instantly forgot their names 2 seconds after they introduced themselves.

Hope this helps.

You change man.. That's just life. I have done this with several movies.. Movies I use to like as a kid and then when I see it for the first time since I were younger.. I wonder why the hell I liked it so much.

I remember I used to really like 311.. But today I just can't listen to them like I once did. And it has gone the other way as well. Not like certain things when it came out.. And then today I like it..

I mean the kids weren't even 16 yet, great album from that perspective.

They werent ever really that great. Band that trended with the times.. sorta like if Australia had a teenage nickelback.

I think/hope it's normal. Had a vasectomy scheduled the Friday after the National Championship. On the drive home the frau(no pics) and I got to talking about our two boys and I realized I couldn't remember much about them as babies. Got cold feet, canceled the procedure and decided to try for a third i.e. currently spraying guts.

Going more short term: At a sushi restaurant tonight on a work trip in Fort Worth and someone ordered Asian Dumplings. I had to google around to come up with the word I was looking to call them... Potstickers.

Sorry, this is more verbal diarrhea than actual helpful input.

Neither of these examples have anything whatsoever to do with the OP’s question.

For years I remembered the LSU vs USC game in 1979 as the greatest game I ever witnessed in TS as far as crowd participation. I just thought I was young and hadn’t been to LSU games enough although at 16 I had been to quite a few. Tiger Rant confirmed decades later what a great game.

Guess my point is some memories are right and some are wrong.

I think I had most of REMs albums at one time. Their only song I will still listen to is Radio Free Europe.

For years I remembered Steve Vai wearing white and playing a black guitar.
