Is there ever a thread you don't ruin and try to make about you?

Better choice than a worthless sham marriage for both parties.
I don't think anybody is saying to go through with the marriage if he isn't committed to it. Just questioning the circumstances of the situation since he basically gave us nothing.
You say who cares what the facts are. I say the facts are completely relevant to forming an opinion on the situation (which is clearly what he wanted us to do by posting it here).

ENTERTAIN ME.
If OP comes back and fills in details this thread hits 50 pages within an hour.

This is going to be one of those threads that turns into a huge pissing match with lots of name calling over a hypothetical situation. It's been about 24 hours since the last one.

Saw this thread was 7 pages. Read through the entire thing to see what the OP said to make it go that long.
He said nothing.
I am disappointed.

10-year relationship. Engaged with no set date
My only advice is to be honest, make it clear and final and then never speak to her again. Don't waffle or change your mind. Don't lead her on any longer or give her reason to think you might change your mind.

How long have you known that you didn't want to marry her?

Talk to Wafer. He's the one trying to make it about him. I said after 10 years the OP should have been married with kids or broke up years ago. Wafer somehow made that statement about him. Guess you missed that though.

Man, even if it hits you at the altar, just back out.

1. Break up
2. Get mad when you see her out with some other dude about to take her to pound town.
3. Bang other women and realize they suck in bed and you dont want to adjust your preferences that you already had set up
4. Get back together and get married.
I'm not saying this is how all marriages happen, but....

True.
That is a pretty big void to fill, and a lot of times people rush into trying to fill that as quickly as possible without letting everything heal. If she does that, then I feel sorry for her next partner.

Let her keep the ring
Kinda like a consolation prize
Also a reminder that she wasn't good enough for him

Do you not have any female friends?
Of course I do. And when one of them starts to go on and on about some jack wad who dumped her, we remind her that he fricking dumped her. It's one thing to be upset, of course that's going to happen. But no since pining away for someone who doesn't want to be with you.
Of course, I am still single. So I might have a slightly bitter view
