Which is exactly what her friends and fmaily and all their mutual friends will do.

And since he is the break-er and not the break-ie she gets the benefit of the doubt.

Better to find out now than after the fact...and I'm sure she'll get over you. Who wants to pine over some guy who doesn't love you anyway?

Not sure you're telling me I should.

Two can play at that game -.-

ETA I'm still interested to know why OPs kicking this girl to the curb. Let me know when he fills us in.

Dumb post when someone airs out highly personal baggage on here asking for "advice." What the frick do you expect to happen?

There's definitely something going on here. Relationships obviously can get stale, but if you care enough, you can fix that. OP clearly doesn't want to do that (I am assuming). And based on what he has said, this is pretty one-sided on his part.

Good time to get out. Avoid having to buy her Christmas presents and spending time with her family

His best hope is that she MIGHT have seen this coming and she has someone else lined up. OP better pray she has someone else lined up.

maybe, maybe not, there will be a certain number that have been biting their tongues for a long tome that will now come forward and say something to the effect of "I am so glad you broke that off because fill in the blank."

Marriage is a big freaking deal. If you can't do it, don't do it. Props to OP for not being intimidated about the situation. Some people would say, "Well, I can't back out now." Then, they are stuck in a loveless marriage that will most likely end in divorce with children involved.

I hope this started in middle school cause if not, something is up with this chick hanging around that long without a commitment.

To be fair, they are engaged...that's a hell of a commitment.

But we don't know for how long though, since OP is full of information so far..

I don't even think he was asking for advice. I think he just wanted to let OT know he's a dick.

Who cares what the facts are. He doesnt want to do it. therefore he shouldnt.

Better choice than a worthless sham marriage for both parties.

Also, all of her friends and family are going to fricking hate you. You will be a leper among people you once considered friends.

This for sure. You're in a real shitty spot and I honestly dont feel for you. You're breaking it off a 10 year relationship right after you get engaged. You're either a fricking moron for getting engaged to her knowing you did not want to marry her or a moron for ending a 10 year relationship because all of a sudden you're scared now that actual commitment is on the line.

Of all the things posted on this website, I've seen WAY more personal baggage. This isn't really that bad, imo.

Also, look at how fast this thread is growing...it's always easy to tell when the OT has been bored for a while.

Well no one wants to, but if you have been with someone for 10 years it is going to suck not being with them anymore. Especially right before the holidays when all your friends and family you haven't seen in forever start asking you all about it.

Yeah, there was a reason I put advice in quotes.

But, lay off man, you don't know the whole story!!!
