I agree with this assessment.
I think they're boring and dull all the around. They completely lack personality and are just very generic animals.
A standard poodle is more interesting than a lab.

Working labs and bandanna wearing suburban labs are completely different animals. One of our labs hunted a cripple for 45 minutes on his own out of sight of the blind and came back with it.

I think dogs in general are overrated. They’re a lot of work if you don’t have a fenced yard and even then you piles of shite everywhere.

The best dog I ever had was a half golden retriever half lab. Got him as a puppy from donna douglas in 1988 or so.
He was the size and shape of a lab, but the color and temperament of a red golden retriever.

Half Lab and Goldens are obviously the greatest breed of dog. Simply perfect companions and unquestionably loyal. If you are fortunate, like myself, you may get a great one like the one I call friend.

Agree 100% GSP’s are far better dogs than labs at all the same shite people love labs for. Including retrieving.
