Wrong. You cannot shoot a person outside of your house unless you have legitimate reason to believe he will harm you. That person better have a weapon, or you will need a damn good lawyer. A Marine Colonel retrieving a ball out of a yard will not fly as a self defense scenario.

OP started post in a whiny bitch manner, and probably making this up, but assuming it’s a true story, Col. Jessup is in the wrong, if yard is gated, you lose the ball, drop one and press on, whiny little aid/friend needs a bitch slapping too, no one gives a shite if he’s a marine colonel while he’s on your golf course, I would have checked to see if he’s an authorized guest if the course was private

It all happened. I might have some of the words wrong, but the Gomer Pyle buddy definitely bowed up to me. My heart was racing, and I was pissed, but I was mostly pissed at my wife for losing her shite anytime somebody opens our gate.
IN RETROSPECT.... I was wrong to pop off at a total stranger with F bombs. If I see him again I will apologize. I peobably deserved to have my arse kicked, but that guy would have to have come in my yard to do it.
