I bought a truck today, an hour out from my house.

I knew I was gonna have to fix some things on it. My car shite out on me months back and I carpool with my roommate to work.

So I of course buy this 32 year old truck with no AC during a 3 day long rain storm. Was supposed to finally be a way to actually stand on my own for a minute without having to rely on someone else's vehicle so I jumped on it.

The brakes are meh. I've slid already.

I have an hour drive back home and this thing is a death trap on 4 wheels in these conditions. I'm sitting here waiting on rain to let up knowing it won't.

Ignoring all the other issues in my life , I made a stupid decision to better myself in the heat of the moment and ended up with this .

So tell me guys, is this a nut up and drive situation? I can't really see without straining horribly. Feels kinda fricked right now. I either make it or wreck the son of a bitch.

I know I'll get it rough from y'all, but you can't say anything I haven't told myself already.

Just wait for the rain to stop. It will, eventually.

How bad is the rain? Will it stop soon? Do you have windshield wipers?

With all due respect, I don’t think the mentally challenged should be allowed to drive.

Are you insured?

Also, if you don’t feel safe on the road, remember you aren’t the only person you are risking by trying to drive a “death trap.” Don’t kill or injure an innocent person by stacking one bad decision on another.

Then you have to wait for the roads to drive that slick little bit of water with oil and fluids on top of it

that's the worst

I'm sure there's not much to fix. No ABS. I have a 94 Camry for my daily driver but if there's a chance of rain I'll drive my truck b/c no ABS on the Camry.

I mean, waiting it out won't cost you anything more. Ending up upside down in a ditch somewhere would cost you a whole hell of a lot more.

Yep. If you don’t know much about fixing vehicles now you will very soon.

Not only that but now you’ll have a story to tell your kids.

No matter what car you are in when driving through some of these storms, you cannot see 10' in front of you.
God speed in remaining safe.
