Never had a single person that got a sleep study not get diagnosed with a problem - its a scam.

I don’t think many people are willing to frick with a sleep study unless they already pretty much know they have an issue.

My sleep study was at my home. Do the sleep studies at the hospital/sleep center only occur if the home study goes particularly poorly?

I’ll defer to the life insurance underwriters. They say 214 and under are optimal for 6 ft.

I got a cpap, then lost 70 lbs and don’t need it anymore. I’ll sell it to you for $350

Post your AHI after you're done. Mine was 69 ( ), the highest I've heard was something like 97

I was told I stopped breathing 25 times an hour, for up to 1 minute.

How does that translate to AHI?

And to the OP: don't be discouraged by the annoying sleep studies. They're terrible with all that shite hooked up to you.

My AHI was 14. Felt like crap all day every day. Got the CPAP but just can’t get into it. Almost every night I try to use it I wake up about 2AM and throw it on the floor.

I got one of those lower-jaw-forward mouthpieces a couple years ago.
I sleep like a baby with it, but I'm kind of addicted to it now.
I just ordered another for backup.

Tell her to remove the ball gag before you fall asleep next time.

Those sleep study folks run a racket. They'll make you jump through a bunch of hoops and your gonna end up with a cpap.

You should just stop being fat.

Weight isn't always an indicator of obstructive sleep apnea.

I'm so aggravated. I'm 47 and until about a year ago I didn't snore or have sleep apnea. My wife told me I wasn't breathing so I figured I'd do the damn sleep test knowing what they'd recommend. It's been almost 3 weeks, but I can't really get used to it. Like you I wake up and usually leave it off. Not sure it's helping me. It's the nasal type.

Here's my test results if you baws have any thoughts:
quote:

RESPIRATORY INDICES
pRDI: 32.5 (REM: 44.7; NREM: 29.4)

pAHI: 27.5 (REM: 30.3; NREM: 26.7)

Supine pRDI: 44.3

Supine pAHI: 40.1

I'm 6'3" and 200lbs. I plan on losing 5-10 lbs, but I've been this weight for a while and this shite came from nowhere last year.
