No shite. I spend most of my waking hours in the garage, the kitchen, or the bathroom.

Truth

I don't know if it's trashy, but poor, yes.

Rich people don't need a garage to store all kinds of tools and whatever, because they pay other people to fix their shite.
As long as it's somewhat organized and not just looking like a pile of junk, I wouldn't look down on someone as trashy for having less money. You do you though.

Not true.

I’m guessing you are talking about a trailer?

I want a 4,000 square foot barndominium that's about 3,000 square feet of garage and only 1,000 square feet of residential space.

I guess you don't know any realtors or people who have bought or sold houses without garages, lately.

Believe it or not....there are people who don't care about garages. New houses are still built without them.

I love how some of y'all make stupid blanket statements that can't possibly be true or verified.

Yes. Garages can add years to your vehicle's paint job (preventing weathering, especially if you have pecan trees near the house) as well as provide some level of security from people wanting to break into them, birds shitting on them, or critters getting up into them. Along with this, a decent garage also gives you more storage space, adds to your square footage (which increases your home value) and helps your resale value as the majority of buyers want some sort of shelter for their vehicles.

This and the added convenience of bringing things in the house from the car no matter the weather conditions. If you have small children, that matters as well. I can load my car for trips or whatever the day before without fear of anything being stolen. Lots of oak trees in our area and when the acorns drop, it's pretty miserable for your vehicles. Trees also mean a lot of birds and squirrels.

I wouldn't buy a house without a garage unless there was space to add one myself.

No way you’re going to regret this. Its genius. Who needs a space to protect your car from the elements? Who needs extra storage space?

Clearly listening to a wife on practical matters is the way to go.

Wrong,.....

I work on my own things and have a Neurosurgeon colleague that has two lifts in his garage and works on his cars/race cars.

Why would you do this? When it is storming outside and your wife has to sit in the car for it to slack off you will here "you should have built have built a god damn garage. I had to wait for it to slack off and I still got drenched! But I guess since you never had a garage in your life you expect everyone else to just deal with not having one. I hope you are fricking happy! My purse got soaked, I had to dump everything out of it to make sure nothing important got saturated. You stupid son of a bitch!".

I've seen houses around South Lake Carroll and Trophy Something or Another with larger garages than our house
