Never been but I don't think I'd like the lines/crowding I've seen either.
Did a lot of water skiing as a kid/young adult. Pretty sure I couldn't get up on one now. Maybe two. Maybe.

Pizza= wedge. It is a way for a beginner to slow or stop.

Pushing the tips of your skis closer together to slow down
Don’t touch or cross tips though you’ll have a bad time

We've got a place in Park City about 250 yards downhill from the resort. It's much more enjoyable going in the summer. Karl Malone's 4th of July celebration, Rodeos, Film Fest, taking dirt bikes up the ski lift and biking down, Golfing, etc.

resorts don’t let that sort in. Like where?
Deer valley, Alta, mad river glen
They like to keep the slopes suitable.

I’ve only been snow skiing 5 times and the mountains put me in such a great mood. Only the last time was aided by newly legal substances.
I wish that I had more time and money for it.
Of course, every time I’ve gone was heavy powder but relatively mild temps so might be spoiled.

I see you picked up some of that famous French attitude while you were there.

I snow skied for 2 days in Gatlinburg back in the early 70s. Sure it was fun but I don’t like cold and snow and it was not something I wanted to ever do again. Give me sunshine and warmer temps with an occasionally interval of some cold weather. Keep the snow.

You gotta go to a resort that isn’t on that same crazy expensive Epic Pass or Ikon Pass.

just because you suck at it and don’t enjoy it doesn’t mean it’s overrated or not fun

Well, when you suck at doing something, it's usually not fun. But when you're good at it and can go where the crowds aren't, it's most definitely fun.

I went to Breck last Friday after the parking lots at keystone were full. The place was crazy packed. 95%+
The worst time to go skiing is Dec 29 - when school starts back in Texas. I used to ski instruct at Breck and those dates are the worst.

Nobody really skis those. Pretty much just after work snowboarders.

I use to go night snowboarding there quit often. Mostly because it was cheap, but it was still a great place to snowboard. Lots of memories there.

My grandfather has a saying: “Skiing is the most fun a man can have with his pants on” and there’s truth to that….if you can actually ski.
Would I want to pay thousands of dollars to travel, ski for 4 days and suck at it? No, im a mid 20s guy that makes a regular wage. But having access to it on a regular basis makes it affordable. After never having skied prior to moving is something I’ll never take for granted and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had. One of the most freeing feeling in the world when you can ski without fear and straight flow. I can’t go without it anymore.

OP is a brave one posting this on the OT ballers board. If there's one thing people who think they're rich don't appreciate is their silly status symbols pointed out to them.

Pizza will never work at anything more than slow speeds. Learned that the hard way. Hockey stop and weighting/unweighting of edges is the key.
