Those would be heavy to carry.

There's less gravity up there so they'd be lighter

It's doable. The 2nd time I went up Driskill I carried a 65 quart Yeti. And that was in July. Could have easily been a small Robert E Lee statue, or at least a large bust.

Hey man, I hate to ask favors and all, especially since I dont know you....but I have this old tv that I always swore I was going to throw off a mountain. And since E is the highest mountain etc., I would really appreciate it if you'd take that sucker with you. I would but I really dont like being in the wind and all...... I'll owe you one!

I took the mountain flight around Everest from Kathmandu. It was crazy enough to think that we were flying at 25000 ft and were looking up at the mountain.

Good luck and God bless you.

I don't mean to downplay your decision or question your motives, but it sounds like this is basically a suicide mission. I understand the love for one's parents, but going to extreme's to ensure you go out in glory because your parents died is irrational. You are 24, and you have a trust fund. Your life isn't that rough.

Mt. Everest isn't the largest mountain. It's neither the tallest.
Doc, you left everyone hanging loose here without naming the tallest geological feature on the Earth's surface.

HINT to the crowd: I drove to within about 100 feet of it's summit in a rental Jeep. I manned-up and hiked the rest of the way. The Jeep's engine was not happy about the paucity of O2 at that elevation.

Actually, the only thing that's less is air pressure.

Making them heavier...less buoyant.

Even further, though...gravity anomalies exist in the presence of deep-seeded mountains. Every mountain has a deep root, and the tall mountains have even deeper roots than they are tall. Gravity there gets kind of funky.

This depicts the Himalaya showing a negative gravity anomaly on the Indian sub-continent, and a positive gravity anomaly on the Asian continent...where the Himalaya are! Gravity there is more than what it should be!

An example of Himalayan gravity anomaly would be 1 - crustal thickening, and 5 - lithospheric thickening.

Largest and tallest are one in the same, probably.

Yeah. Hawaii. The big island.

We should try to get to the root cause of why people make up things like this on the Internet

Im truly envious of you. I've stumbled into this strange infatuation with the idea of it for the last two years. I don't have the stones to do this, nor would my wife let me at this point in my life. Thats not even bringing up the idea that I would in no way shape or form be physically capable of it. Keep us posted and Good Luck.

Kilamanjaro is more deadly than Everest because it is way more accessible.

So, due to more frequent climbers it claims more lives.

But you already knew that. This post is for everyone else.

How do you like my gravity anomaly posts though?!!??!!

Yes, you get lots of help but every one of the climbers has a solid and skilled climbing resume. Beginners aren't allowed.

This isn't true. The Canadian woman that died a few years ago that created a controversy had never been on a mountain before. Her training consisted of climbing the stairs in the high rise she worked in during lunch breaks. Many of the climbers that pay to climb Everest now are amateur climbers at best.

To the OP. Good luck!!! If I was not married and without kids I would love to do something this challenging and rewarding.

Keep us updated on your training.
