This is the correct response. First I woukdve told the guy recording to exit the room because wht goes on with another employee is no ones business. Now, the second the guy threatened to handle this outside you calmly pick up the phone and call the police. I did this quite a few times at a former job with customers who threatened me. Your record, career, and possibly your life isnt worth dealing with situations like this. While youd love to knock the piss out of the guy, its never worth it in the end.

It is a sad fact that guys like those employees come from a culture where respect is of the utmost importance and physical violence is how issues are resolved. If you haven't been around or employed people like this it is hard to understand. You don't necessarily have to resort to violence like they do but you absolutely have to demand their respect. They don't respect this guy because he lets them speak to him in that way and he will never effectively be able to supervise them. He should have fired them both on the spot and without any argument. That being said, he should have been ready to roll with that first guy because things like going to jail are the furthest from that guys mind.
None of the previous is racist. It applies every bit as much to a white guy from the trailer park as it does to these two guys. That dude has zero business supervising people like that. As far as the physical aspect of it goes, I have seen women who command the respect of workers like that and it isn't because they can handle them physically. It's how you treat them day to day and how you handle situations like the ones on the video.

I didn't read the thread and I don't know the circumstances, but my Dad told me "never threaten another man's livelihood". A man needs to get paid for his work. There is nothing more demeaning to a man than not getting paid for his labor. If that guy had been my employee he would have been sitting down reasonably working it out, going over schedules and talking in good faith. And if I was wrong, he'd get an apology.Maybe even a little something extra in his check for his trouble.

What fricking job is this? How do you not have a time sheet or any sort of mechanism that let's you know when your employees come in and leave for work.
A.) This place is run like shite and if it ever goes to court, the "boss" will lose so easily

While you cant blame the guy for asking about his pay, you can certainly blame him for how the situation escalated. I have employees who have come to me respectfully many times to let me know of an error with pay. I then respectfully tell them that I will get it fixed for them. Thats how the real world operates. You dont threaten your boss and expect to not be reprimanded and/or fired.
