I don't mind the time.

But mowing when the grass is wet isn't fun.

What kind of neighborhood you are in? Some DSLD subdivision that built the houses so close together that you can fart in your house the neighbor can smell it in theirs.

Mowing doesn’t bother me too much, weedeaters and blowers are the worst.

Working outside and cutting grass is trashy. Mexicans cut my grass.

White noise or a fan helps. I can’t stand sleeping in silence.

6:00 on a weekday isn’t a problem. You should be up and getting dressed if you are a working person on a normal schedule.

What if you aren’t on a normal schedule?

Also don’t mow between 8:00 and 5:00 on weekdays. Too many of us wfh and don’t need machine noise in the background of our calls

Not sure why you're getting downvotes

I’ve lived in urban (and a few years of suburban) areas for the last 15 years and literally have never been bothered by someone mowing their lawn. A a mower or leaf blower has woken me up a few times, but I always just go back to sleep.

Contractors working in the evening or weekend mornings is 100x more of an issue to me

The guy across the street is out between 530/6 on weekends. Doesn’t bother me I can’t hear it. I’d say 8 to 9 is a polite time to start. I try not to mow after 7 pm for same reason, I don’t l want to disturb people, even though sometimes it’s the coolest part of the day.

Fine. I'll wait until 6:08 to crank up the mower next week so you can have a more gentle morning.

Pressure washing getting cranked at 6:13AM tomorrow, baw. Plenty of time for you to finish your coffee.

Guess how I know you live in the city or a subdivision. In the country people are not soft pussies and bitch about everything. This is why I do not live in the city and do not live in a HOA. If I wanted to cut grass at 6AM I can. I can walk outside and shoot my guns anytime I want. If you choose to live where you and your neighbors are restricted to what you can do and time of day you can do it go for it.

This must have been written by someone that lives in Mississippi where land is cheap and there is no traffic for drives to drop children off at school and go to work. Your solution to an inconsiderate neighbor for a large majority of the population is to spend half a million dollars on a bunch of land, build a new house, and sit in traffic an extra hour a day.

Im pretty damned country and pretty damned considerate... 2 miles is pushing it. But 6 am is a bit much.

Bush hogging... 7 am. Mowing, 8:30ish. Mower is louder than the tractor.

This is going to deviate from the premise of the thread, so just hang with me.

The actual issue is I live on 200 acres, but the house is situated close to the property line. That's a whole other story.

On the other side of the property line is a subdivision full of people who think they are in the country and adopt an attitude such as yourself. I'd imagine that a lot of them don't know that they are actually in a subdivision. As a result, they shoot guns, they mow their yard at 6 am, etc. The problem is they actually have ordinances to abide by. If you asked most of them where they live, they would say the country, but that's not accurate according to the zoning map and the actual code that applies to them.

I'm in "the country" by most people's standards, however I don't see it that way. We are just not governed by anything except the police jury. Them? Not so much.

I agree. This is why I have a manual reel mower and an Ego (when needed). I mow almost exclusively at 6:45 AM and 7:30 PM.
