No kidding...unless it is not busy it is the height of self centered narcissism. If the pumps ain't busy I may do it myself but if most or all of them are busy and folks are waiting move your damn car to go get lottery tickets arse.

Depends on how busy the gas station is. If there's folks waiting on pumps then frick you, pull your car up before going inside.

What if I go in while I’m filling up?

The worst are the Costco people that finish and take 5 minutes to leave when there are 4 cars waiting. People are so self absorbed.
Those pumps aren’t made for the slow movers but they are still there. Even worse, I hate the impatient assholes that mess up the rhythm by leapfrogging bc they can’t wait an extra 2 minutes for me to fill my large gas tank.

I usually have to go inside to get a receipt because 99% of the the pump is out of paper. I need it for my expense report.
I never leave it pumping and go inside anymore. I had the auto shut off fail once and I came out to about 10 gallons of gas pouring out my tank onto the ground. Ended that habit real quick.

Yeah this is something that infuriates me. Move your car when you’re done, you piece of shite. It’s also people who start pumping, leave the pump to go inside, so the pump has been done for several minutes while they’re inside with their thumb up their arse. This is a telltale low IQ signal. Along with people who take way too long at drive through ATMs.
ETA: Looks like the truth hurts for our low IQs around here
It always amazes me how many people who, judging by their appearance, would seem to know every fast food drive through menu by heart who have to read the damn thing in their 2nd grade reading level style to order at the drive through. Its fricking mcdonalds...they are all the same and you have eaten the same crap every time you ever went to one...but it is like a surprise every single time you pull up???? My wife and kids are INFURIATING at the drive through...its Taco Bell....you are going to get what they want to give you and if it happens to coincide with what you ordered in any way be happy...but they all have special requests and want something that is not and has never been on the menu...

if someone did this, tOT would say they were too lazy to walk inside to get their snuff and red bull.

If the station you are at is that busy at the pumps, I’d reckon that the parking spaces around the store are pretty full, too. It isn’t always simple to move from a pump to a space when three or four other drivers are vying for the same spots.
Besides, if I need to pee, I’m hustling to get to the rest room.

I'll often start the pump and go inside while gas is pumping - can I get an OT ruling?
If you have made someone wait while doing so and apologize I think youre good. If you don't apologize you may be being an arse....

I apologize. I went in to pay for gas and stood behind a a woman paying for a lottery ticket and a pack of cigarettes in pennies.

If I've payed for a tank of fuel, I think I've earned the right to burn a few minutes inside the store to get my receipt or grab a drink.
Now, I've seen people pull up to a pump and go inside like it's a parking spot with no intention of getting fuel. That bothers the hell out of me.
Edit- I also hate when folks block the one diesel pump when there are 6 gas pumps open. Then look at me like I'm stupid when I pull up behind them to wait.

It’s not a sign of low IQ you dork, that’s my parking space. I’m not moving to park somewhere else if I need to go inside. You can wait. ()

Shouldn’t leave your car unattended when filling in case the auto stop thing doesn’t trip.
Posted on 5/8/23 at 7:13 am to JumpingTheShark
It only bothers me and my neighborhood place which is a small grocery/liqour store as much as it is a gas station, and there is zero room to get around cars at pumps. People who do this really clog the place up

No, frick you. You can wait patiently, go to another pump or go to another station. You are the a-hole in this situation.

I'm gonna leave it at the diesel pump now. 2 for 1.
