Fastback would get my balls.

Ehh I much prefer the fastbacks on the 65 and 66
65-66:
67-68:
GOAT fast back of course is 69-70:

IIRC, the very first Mustangs were 64 1/2, coupe only. Then in 65 you had coupes and fastbacks.
I've been drinking though, so I could be wrong.

"Right" costs money, but yeah, they're high.

Fastback. The Steve McQueen version in Bullitt.

Coupe will be less expensive to buy, and less expensive to restore, typically.

To be honest that 289 was not that quick.
Doesn’t take much to wake a 289 right up. A decent cam, headers, intake, and carb, and you can run with anything from that era, outrun most.

Also had front drum brakes, so when it was raining I would have to either stop fully then turn or drive into a curb in the turn back up and then go.
At this point it’s pretty obvious that all you were good for was turning the key, and pushing the gas pedal. Drum brakes aren’t great, but they aren’t anything like you’re describing.

The Bullitt Mustang was a 1968 with a 390.

This is the color of my neighbors.

That 390 was slow.
The Charger was killing it so badly that McQueen was having to really over drive the Mustang.

You ever ride in an early Mustang with an FE? Pretty sure you haven’t. I have one, and I’ve seen many a 390 ruin a Chevy 396’s day.

Fastback and I wouldn't put anything Eleanor

I had a 1969 Mach 1 with a 390. The low end torque was incredible. I blew the doors off many GM muscle cars on the road in front of Acadiana High.
