I guess the picture distorts it a bit, it does look damn near the size of the cup. So maybe not a pitch mark but a dickhead swinging and leaving a divot

Pretty clear from the pictures that is what occurred, which doesn't happen at any course I've played at and is some a-hole being stupid

I don’t know that you did. You missed the other three in the post.

Whoever did this had best lay up in their bunker and not putter around for a while. Things could get rough.

That looks like two little pitch marks. On every green on every course in the country.

This is why you don’t allow outside play. Keep the trash on the muni’s where they belong.

That's a rough accusation. If I can hazard a guess, links to the perpetrators will be hard to come by. The guy is really teed off. He clearly has a chip on his shoulder and the drive to do something about it.

A pitch mark is what it is called when the ball lands on the green you neophytes.

I’ve never heard it called that. It’s called a ball mark to normal people.

I thought the damage was going to be a lot worse than that.

I was expecting somebody doing donuts in a cart on the green or something.

This reminds me when I was a member at pelican point years ago, someone did that to their greens and they had a flyer up at the counter inside saying green vandalism would not be tolerated. But then another flyer next to it said pay for 18 holes of golf and get 2 free hotdogs. What kind of people do you expect to get on your golf course if you drop the greens fees to $45 or give away hotdogs to play.

Using a hole cutter to pull a plug of healthy Bermuda to replace that little area of damage literally takes less than a minute. Most golf courses do it to every hole every day as routine maintenance. I spent the summer of ‘81 doing it starting at 6 AM before mowing the greens.

What? Nobody chips off the fricking green what kind of shite course do you play that you think this is common?

It’s rare, but it happens and it’s a legal shot. Hole 2 at Copper Mill can require it. I’ve seen videos of greens that have a little bunker in the center that you may have to chip over.

I really kind of feel like Josh is just looking for an excuse to shite on something or someone.
