In close quarters a knife can be devastating. In some of the self defense classes I've taken they showed videos of what happens when you let a guy with a knife get too close. I'd probably go with that if I get to train and it isn't just my current ability. Eta: saw you said Master when I read again. Knife.

Ballistic shield. It can stop bullets, give 'em the old shield bash, and then crush their windpipe or fracture their skull with the edge of it when they're on the ground.

You have watched too many movies. Spears, while often hurled in combat, are usually used as a fixed weapon and not thrown. Tomahawks were rarely thrown outside of cowboy movies.
