Monaco, really a city-state, but close enough.
My first thought as well, I wonder how our shared passion for a particular sport influenced that.
The only issue is OT baller money is Monaco pauper money. Probably the best I could do is live in Nice and drive in and spend the afternoon sitting at the Metropole Monte-Carlo restaurant acting as if I belong.

Japan
My favorite place in the world to visit. My wife(no pics) is Japanese and she and I go there to visit her family a couple of weeks at a time. The culture there is amazing with so many places to visit and eat. I highly recommend.

The people are freakin money too. And green mountains, hills, meadows, fields everywhere. But it’s the people. Ireland in particular is blessed with great people.

Bali is one of the most beautiful places in the world and you have plenty of Aussie tourists that are catered to, so the language barrier isn’t huge
Croatia along the coast is inexpensive and beautiful

Can foreigners own land in Thailand? I know they can't in the Phillippines but they can own a condo there.
Not sure.. i know someone who recently bought a baller condo there for like $300k which would have been easily a $1 million place in most of the U.S…. Not sure if can buy houses.. in any case, i dont think id ever invest such a large sum of money in a foreign country, since their laws can change at any time, not to mention the potential for political unrest.. of course , that applies here in the U.S. as well , as we’ve seen recently .. id rather invest in property here at home, rent it out and use proceeds to live abroad in SE Asia, *especially* since rents are so cheap there for beautiful condos, I mean like $250 US dollars per month for an awesome place w/amenities .
As far as El Nido, it’s supposed to be beautiful but- while the Philippines are generally safe- EN is located on Palawan, which was placed on the US’s list of places that could be unsafe for foreigners since there have been many kidnappings and terrorist activity in that area and in the South Philippines.. highly unlikely, but just thought id mention it .

The valet at our Monte Carlo hotel cleared 300,000 euros a year parking cars. Yeah, I’m living in Nice or San Remo with all the other poors who work in Monaco, lol.

If we are saying money necessary to live there then yeah, I am Nice not Monaco. I imagine people have live in butlers, I could do that.
