Portugal. Beautiful people, beautiful beaches, high morale of people who live there, nice weather, etc.

Lisbon is a beautiful beautiful city too.

That sounds pretty good. Spain is a bit like that, only the coffee isn't like Italy's or France's.

Been to many countries...previously mentioned Thailand, Japan, Australia and Italy are my favorites. Enjoyed Costa Rica recently. However, I'm not too far from a comfortable retirement, and wouldn't want to be anywhere but in the US.

I have an apartment in Costa Rica. Eventually I’ll be there full time. I love SE Asia as well. Ireland would work.

I lived in Italy for three and a half years and I wouldn't say no to going back. Pretty much anywhere in Europe would be enjoyable.

Where do you have an apartment? My mom wants to retire in Heredia. My mom’s family lives in San Isidro in Perez Zeledon a few hours southwest of San Jose.

Used to be Australia or New Zealand, but both have went bat shite crazy. Now maybe Canada because even though they have went cray liberal I could get out of the city to where normal thinking ppl live and have peace but maybe my number one would be Thailand.

Costa rica is indeed quite nice.

My godfather lives in an area of mexico where he's surrounded by other english speaking expats, the local businesses and government cater to them and keep it clean and safe. I took the family for an extended visit / vacation and was shocked at how nice it was.

He also pays less property taxes in his 800k+ villa than i do on my house which annoys me a little bit.

All in all since visiting I am considering looking at an early retirement down there.

I always had New Zealand on the top of my list. However after that shooting in Christchurch and they started confiscating the weapons of their citizens that changed. Covid restrictions were just the icing on the cake.

Does anyone know how Argentina and Chile are these day and could they be options?
