If you could go back in time what event would you want to see?

And see one event take place, but you could never be hurt, what event would you want to see? Mine would be the resurrection of Jesus.

When Ringo got the original idea for the lyrics to "Yellow Submarine".

I had a theology class where the professor posed the question had you witnessed the resurrection of Christ how would it affect your faith
it was an interesting conversation because there was a conclusion that it would no longer be faith because they had seen it with their own eyes they had been able to witness it with all their human senses and faith is something that you have without proof
And that proof was what sustained the disciples in the earliest believers in establishing the church and that kind of belief that kind of knowledge is what gave them the strength because they knew that they would live again

Then that is an incredibly bad theology class because that is not what faith means

Aside from an event involving Christ - there are just so many appealing options. Top of my head -
I'd love to see any number of things from around America's origination - New York as New Amsterdam, Boston nearing the revolution, even a regular day in the southern colonies.
I'd love to see a lot of WW2-related things - both combat related and just life in general. London during the blitz or even in the lead up to war. Germany in the mid/late 30s as Naziism took hold.

For many of us, the question is what would be our second choice as this is the obvious first choice.

Of course it means just that in this instance.

I'd take back those words that have hurt you
And you'd stay
And you'd stay

1982.. Ohhhh, man I wish I could go back in time. I’d take state. Back in ’82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter-mile.If coach woulda put me in the fourth quarter, we’d have been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind. You better believe things had been different. I’d have gone pro in a heartbeat.

I would like to see large scale battles being fought, such as Waterloo or Cannae, although seeing the butchery in person might be much harder to stomach that we think. Watching Alexander outmaneuver the Persians at the Battle of Gaugamela would be incredible to watch as well.

I’ve thought about this often:
The founding fathers discussing independence and signing the declaration.
Go along with Lewis & Clark and see the untamed West before Western Expansion.

Well, explain why not.

Seems like it'd be a bit underwhelming in terms of excitement.

Back to that year long turmoil, destructive relationship with that nurse. The sex was so great. I’d deal with it again.
