re: If you could go back in time and attend one concert, what would it be?

Doobies 1981 in the Centroplex. All of these years later it still stands out. Got dragged to a Pearl Jam show at Starwood in Nashville 20 years ago, and I was really impressed.

Led Zeppelin 1977 LSU Assembly Center. My friends older brother took us and it was the best concert ever for me.

Led Zeppelin
Grateful Dead-SF at Fillmore or Warfield
Bob Marley
The Doors
Hendrix
Black Sabbath
Bad Brains-at CBGB
Johnny Cash
Gorillaz- Harlem
will think of more

I wasn't born yet but I would have liked to have attended Peter Frampton's concert where he plays Do you feel like we do? for the first time.

I love these threads. Very interesting to see the different shows that people choose. I was a teen in the 70's and was blessed to have so many shows and venues available. Beaver Productions had BR as a top 5 tour stop for about 10 years or so. I have seen many of the shows listed, most at the LSU Assembly Center (PMAC) or at the Riverside Centroplex (River Center) after 1977. Things of note:
Woodstock sounds great because of the lineup but, it would have been miserable.
Days of Rock & Roll in the Superdome actually sucked balls because the acoustics. I attended the 1st one in 1978 (Stones, Doobies and VH) and swore I would never return. I have not.
While I was lucky enough to see a who's who's list of HOF acts, I still missed seeing some favs. The bands I missed seeing in their original prime and never will be able to:
Black Sabbath (saw Ozzie twice), Deep Purple (saw Blackmore's Rainbow with Dio on vocals), Lynyrd Skynyrd (saw the reunion in 1989 and 1992, still have my crash ticket and signed album covers), Cream.
Fun memories, thanks

Speaking of Springsteen, my favorite concert that I attended was his Ne Orleans summer of 1975 show at the Municipal Auditorium. Born to Run was hot and was pretty much the play list. Hot as hell. No a/c. Fans on-stage provided a little air circulation for the band until one shorted out emitting spark
I know people hate his politics and shite (as do I), but he and the E Street Band put on an amazing show during that era. I was a high school senior and only a casual fan at the time but they blew me away. No warm up band. Three solid hours of music with a short break. And yeah, even though the 1984 PMAC concert was in December, it had to be 90 degrees in there by the end of the show.
Love him or hate him, the dude loves to perform and gives everything he has when he does. I cant stress enough how good his music is live compared to recorded. Hell, Clarence Clemons' sax solo on Jungle Land alone was worth the price of admission.

My vote is for Stevie Ray Vaughan's last concert, August 26, 1990. SRV, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, and Jimmie Vaughan all played that night.
A close second is Eric Clapton, 1990 Royal Albert Hall. He had an insanely great band and I loved his late 80's/early 90's sound. He also had Buddy Guy and Robert Cray on the bill as well. If anyone's interested, they are about to release a 30th Anniversary Remaster of 24 Nights, which was the recording of this show.
Nice thread idea, OP.

A buddy and I almost bought tickets for that show and decided we were too busy. We kick ourselves often.

Was there ever a night that Black Sabbath and Leppelin played the same venue? If so, that’s my choice.
