Some are full, depending on where you live.
And this could be said at any time pre or post covid. The overwhelming majority are not. Saying they are is pushing a false narrative. Overall hospitals are losing money due to decreased patient load.

Unreal how people who are not affected by our government’s orders are shaming those who are (e.g. unemployed, burning life savings, closing stores, etc) to shut up and not suggest alternative solutions that lessen the financial impact on us all.

These are the types of arguments from emotion that are fueling a lot of the misinformation leading to potential financial ruin for this country. People have also lost their lives to car accidents. Doesn’t mean we should lower the speed limit to 15 mph on the interstate.

Hell, Huntsville Hospital in AL laid off over 2,000 people when we closed down the state too soon. No word on how many are back to work now.

HHS State wide 73% beds in use 15.8% with Covid

Can you help me understand these stats? How can someone possibly claim beds are full when data like this exists?

Nah no tik tok videos yet. I don't think they want too move much with a N95 mask, a hospital mask on to of that then a face shield, gloves and gown.

Because political leaders and medical experts/Hospital management are allowed, by the media, to give regular press briefings where 95% of media outlets refuse to ask difficult questions or call out inaccuracies or conflicting information. Media is content to parrot whatever they are fed.

i did precisely that when my daughter got stitches for her eye in Ruston, the place was dead. I wasn’t sure if it was even open, it was weird.

So is LGMC and OLOL.

I read the article on OLOL and got the impression it was staffing not lack of beds. Did I misinterpret the story and is is at 100% full beds? Or approaching 100% cap on staffed beds?

Because hospitals are not full as in no rooms, they are at capacity

Hospital has 400 rooms
Hospital lays off all extra staff during shutdown, hospital now employs 25 nurses
There is 1 nurse for every 3 patients
Hospital capacity is 75 rooms

Hospital cannot fill more beds until more staff is hired

My #’s are examples only, I’m not sure about actual ratios & I'm sure they change based upon type of unit / care

ETA
Ever had surgery or need admitted from ER & have to wait hours for a room but as you are moved you pass by dozens of empty rooms?
Same thing, you are waiting on someone to be discharged so you can take their place

“I can find a bed for you, but what we’re lacking now is staff,” Dr. O’Neal said. “As those numbers creep up, and COVID care is such intense care and you often need one-on-one nursing, so I can’t have a nurse taking care of three patients. I have a nurse taking care of one patient at a time, which means we’re running out of nursing care, we’re running out of respiratory therapists to help those patients, so we’re stretching that care to make it work.”

On any given day before the pandemic struck, Chief Operating Officer Stephanie Manson says the hospital’s ICU could handle approximately 70 patients, with the possibility of surging up to 80 during peak times. As it stands Thursday, July 23, the ICU has 124 patients, 40% of which have COVID-19.

conspiracy, as in narrative that’s not true, is that hospitals are overrun with covid patients.

While the building have literal square footage, you may not realize all departments are not decked out to support covid. It’s not that complicated that elective surgery could be a cash cow that doesn’t coexist well with covid for instance

No because i speak to doctors that don't have a political agenda. But I know, you know a friend that knows a nurse. I'm sorry that the hospital staff are no longer being worshipped as Heroes.

It's called shared sufferage. You don't care about people losing their life's work, but the people that refuse to take care of themselves should be protected from themselves because they are too stupid it do it themselves.

There is no decrease in patients at area hospitals. On the contrary, most general community hospitals are full. Many are on divert due to lack of capacity (beds) and/or capability (staffing). I am not aware of any hospitals that have cut or laid off direct patient care nurses, whether critical care or floor nurses. More of those nurses are needed. Because many facilities have had to cut the elective surgery schedules, there are possibly OR nurses and ancillary staff that have had hours cut. But most certainly not in the direct patient care areas.

LCMH is not full.

It is busy. The MICU had to be modified, but they have 2 ICUs, one of which was made into a COVID unit which is definitely populated and improving. Some of this has to do with the length of time people are in the unit.

“2 d floor had to be changed into a COVID unit” is overblown as they may have minimal patients there.

Overall the hospital has been way busier in the past.

People saying otherwise are exaggerating or misleading you.
