Didn’t say tgat I wasn’t affected nor did I see where we were discussing alternate solutions such as the other poster’s lay federal employees off.... but continue

I do care about people losing their life’s work I just don’t see the need to expand that impact to those who are fortunate enough to be less impacted than others. You can call it whatever I just think it’s selfish

Because you might think differently if you have skin in the game. As long as govt workers are not losing anything they will not put pressure on the Govt to open back up. If the police quit showing up for work do you think these dumb arse mayors would continue to allow the destruction in their cities. As long as it doesn't effect them personally then they are okay with it. As soon as it gets close to their neighborhood it will all end.

Could she arrange a walk thru for me because most hospitals will not allow anyone in to witness the overloaded work conditions.

The hospitals are not making money during this time because elective surgeries are not being done.
They do have Covid patients that cost more to care for because of the extra precautions they are taking. Plus not being able to do the money making part of the hospital business is hurting them.

And pushing back these elective surgeries and discouraging people from going to doctors appointments and the like, is going to carry it’s own death toll and myriad of health problems in the future. Preventive care is huge in saving money as well as saving lives. But hey, one covid life right?

My brother works at Memorial -- he said it's still steady with covids and a bunch of BS. Said STAFFING is the issue more than space.

We need a thread like this everyday.

These are the types of arguments from emotion that are fueling a lot of the misinformation leading to potential financial ruin for this country. People have also lost their lives to car accidents. Doesn’t mean we should lower the speed limit to 15 mph on the interstate.
Most of the misinformation is coming from those who feel as though it’s a hoax/conspiracy or overblown.

People can believe what they want. My hospital is overrun with covid. It's ridiculous. Units that are usually for outpatient surgery are closed and those beds currently have covid patients in them. This shite is real. Believe it or not. Calling it a hoax won't change the situation that I live every day.

I agree 100%, that’s what I’m saying. The only ones out there that are stretching the truth are those who can’t separate political bias from facts. I’m sure the data isn’t 100% accurate, but the true gap is between bias and reality.

Yet no link or statistics to hospitals being overrun? Just saying something is true doesn’t make it so. I posted hard facts showing hospitals(not just a couple of outliers) but as a whole are losing money. Many are laying off workers and 12 major hospitals have closed. The only articles I can find about hospitals being overrun are from March and April and those are just predictions that they will be. Also I am sure out of the thousands of hospitals a few will be near capacity, which again could be said at any time. I want articles or stats showing they are largely overrun across the country.
