If we REALLY cared about health care professionals...

...we would never make them go through this again. Despite their heroic efforts, the system is failing them. A private, for-profit health care system isn’t designed to save lives, it’s designed to make money. Stocking enough spare ventilators and PPE for a major pandemic isn’t cost effective which is why no one did it. Only a nationalized, public health care system can respond to this kind of tragedy, as well as making sure every citizen has access to affordable, quality health care and make sure that families aren’t bankrupted in medical emergencies. And we’re still going to pay for it, one way or another.
We don’t outsource our national defense to private, for-profit corporations and we have the best military in the world. We can, and should, do the same with health care. It’s the least we can do for all those who are sacrificing so much, including their lives, for us right now.

Thank you for exposing yourself as an idiot. You may now exit the board.

No one forced them into the profession. This is literally what they signed up for and should be their passion in life.

You mean like Spain? Italy? France? The UK?

So wouldn't health care professionals be the devil too then?

If this is an attempt at a troll, well done. If you are serious, GTFO. I'll tell you what. Why don't you ask these doctors if they want to work for a nationalized health care system.

Yeah, look how well the socialized health systems are doing. In Britain, Italy, Spain - all across Europe - the free health care is in such demand that they can only control costs by rationing it. That’s why all of them will have higher death rates than the USA. We have a MUCH BETTER health system. And ours sucks. Theirs just sucks worse.
And the above doesn’t even consider innovation. The USA out innovates the rest of the world combined. Why? Because we offer a giant profit!
Oh, and BTW, our military is the best because we far outspend everyone else. It would be much cheaper, and still the best in the world, if we outsourced it. But you can’t do that because some CEO would have us by the balls.

So we have to let the government take over the entire healthcare industry and control everyone’s lives just to accomplish additional stockpiling of pandemic supplies? Sure, that’s reasonable.

You're a fricking idiot.
Last time I checked, you make more money keeping someone alive for as long as possible.

Then why does Italy have a ventilator shortage?
