I have been out of the reserves for 7 years but could probably slide into my last position as a Battalion XO reasonably well but I wouldn't consider myself near 100% proficient for some time. Hard to say how I would function in a line platoon again but that wouldn't be an issue unless things were really fricked.

Well of course. There sure as hell wouldn't be a draft at that point, either, because it would mean our shite was so thoroughly kicked in that the government and military would practically cease to exist in any recognizable form.

I’m 40. The United States would have to really be in a world of hurt to need my fat arse in the military. I’d do what was needed though to defend the country. I guess I could be a cook or something. After all, an army marches on its stomach.

I am 51 and a veteran and out of shape. I couldn't handle ground combat. But put me in a good fighting position and plenty of ammo and I could take a ton of them bastards out before they got me and I would go in a second if they let me.
