Why aren't there 100 minutes in an hour?

the metric system uses kiloseconds, which are equal to 1,000 seconds, or about 16.7 minutes.
You do the math.
You do the math.

It certainly does make more sense that the crap we use.

When I was a kid in elementary school we began learning the metric system because the U.S. was going to start using it. Obviously it never happened but that’s all I have on that.

The problem with metric is there is no good equivalent to a foot. Go from centimeters to meters. I know there should be decimeter but nobody uses that and it’d only be like 6 inches anyway.

We use metric all day everyday... way easier using metric at work then inches and feet when woodworking... I probably should switch that over to metric too...

The USA changed to the Metric system in the 1800’s, but didn’t enforce anybody having to use it. We do need to use it for all scientific applications.

The only time I dislike the metric system is when I am working on my American made vehicle and some bolts are standard and some bolts are metric.

The metric system is for communists and simpletons

A base 12 numerical system like the Sumerians used makes sense in a way.
12 is a much easier number to work with. Divisibility by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6.

You realize the measurement of time is set on Base 60 which is old as hell, not base 10. (3100 BC)

I think a better question to ask if the metric system is superior then why do they use "stone" to describe someone's weight?

Horse racing
Why does the US have a 2 dollar bill?
American bettors in the past.

Yup. Base 60 is divisible by the base 12 system easier then the decimal.
60/12 = ...

The British use a system of metric, imperial, and retarded measurements depending on what they are measuring.

Metric system is easy calculations for those who can't do simple math.
The primary reason for existence for a system of measures is to actually measure things in readily comprehensible terms and have them broken into useful, smaller denominations that are also relatable... the metric system is completely useless on this regard by being a slave to base 10 measures.
Metric is useful for calculation only. In terms of communicating how much you have of something in easily comparable measurements, US customary units are vastly superior in all respects.

Why do they use a 3/8” ratchet to drive their 10mm socket?
