Married in April, she got pregnant by September. Totally unexpected.

We were married for like 7 months when we found out my wife was pregnant. We talked about waiting for 1-2 years before having a kid, but we weren't doing much to prevent it

5 years. As soon as we got married people kept asking us when were we having kids. We wanted to have some fun first. It got so annoying I started telling people we can't and they would get embarrassed.
I think it's incredibly intrusive for someone to ask a couple that question. You never know if they are trying but aren't capable.

9 years 4 months. No, I don’t think we would do it differently. We got to get ourselves established and we got to travel and see things we can’t now that we have kids.

together as a couple, 12 years. Married 5 before first baby. Got to travel, buy a house in a good school district, start careers.
For me as a mom, I got to see what climbing the corporate ladder, worrying about billable hours, being avail 24hrs for demanding bosses, and all the other stress that goes into a career is all about. Due to other circumstances, I had to continue this path thru the first two kids' births. But after the third, it made being a stay at home mom an easy decision for me. I'll never wonder "what could have been". Grateful that my husband finds fulfillment professionally, because I prefer being a daily participant in my children's lives and planning dinners. Winning.

We were married for 6 weeks when she got pregnant with #1. Had to get a sitter to go out for our first anniversary.
