I would love for someone to ask JBE or these other stupid politicians who have press conferences this question. Give me an exact number of months we need to completely shut down and everyone wear a mask inside their own homes for this to go away? Shut everything down, Wal Mart/Home Depot, Church, Abortion Clinics..Everything. How long do you need because after that we go wide open and I never want to hear about this crap again.

How bad would the COVID virus be going forward if we suddenly started living like we were living before all the restrictions were put in place (throw away all the masks, open everything, live life like you were living in January of 2020)? Do "experts" think it would be dramatically worse than it would if we keep all the restrictions in place? To what degree, if so?
I'm not even advocating one or the other, I'm just trying to see if anyone has attempted to quantify the difference of one versus the other because I haven't really seen any attempts to do so.
It seemed rather straightforward as a query.

this was abandoned after the initial estimates were off by a factor of like 10-20

i believe 2 things
1. they honestly don't have a clear idea yet and don't want to look like fricking idiots (especially since "science" is their whole argument for questionable practices and then reversal of those practices) again
2. they know there isn't a real solution and this may be a multi-year issue, but won't say this out loud b/c that would effectively create societal chaos

But do the measures being pushed create more "societal chaos" than doing nothing and going back to normal?

i don't think so. having hope "around the corner" will always keep the population more docile
if we're given basically no hope, you'll start to see legit anarchy. unemployed people are going to be told they won't have the option of earning income for 18-24 months? people will be told that we can't resume normal things like doctor's appointments for 18-24 months? the market will tank. businesses will declare bankruptcy in large magnitude b/c the lending well will dry up (and since our entire society is based off cheap credit, this will become magnified)

Well i mean it's a published statistic, inflated for sure by hospitals getting paid to report COVID deaths , but to what extent who knows.
