re: If Chic Fil A got into the burger business, would they take over the world?

popeyes and it was 9 bucks before tax for a 2 piece combo. wtf?
I don't know where you are but a 3-piece mixed with a side and drink where I live is $8 after tax. Which puts it way over cane's in term of quality/price ratio and I love cane's

It's all the same.
You think CFA's service is the same as a Popeye's in North Baton Rouge?

I'm kinda shocked at the down votes. People really think otherwise?

Pretty much all the fast food restaurants around my house have pretty good employees. Chic Fil A's service doesn't stand out. Now I realize when I was back in Louisiana, they were the only place that was like that. I just don't think the food at Chic Fil A is very good. I know it's good service, but I don't get the love.
You're missing the point. Sure you may have more motivated workers where you live. But the point is ALL Chickfilas have the same level of customer service.

Arby's used to have the best freaking burgers around. Pissed me off when they cut them from the menu. It was during one of the anti-fat crazes, and their entire marketing campaign was based on how much healthier roast beef was than burgers. I still yearn for those 1/3 lb'ers.
Similarly, Chic-fil-a's entire campaign is "us. vs. burgers." They will never alter that strategy.

The last time I went to a Chick Fil A was about 15 years ago. I asked if they served any type of burger and the smart arse behind the register told me we only serve chicken sandwiches here in a sarcastic tone.
I told him I was simply asking because the place called Burger King, serves a chicken sandwich a-hole. I never ate there again.
First off, I don't believe this made up story. Having said that, if it is true, I would like to state that you are a tremendous douche for not looking at the picture menu above you and realizing they only served chicken, rather than trying to be cute and asking the employee, knowing the kind of response you would get with the sole purpose of throwing you pre-thought out answer back. Cheers.

I would have said "This big illuminated sign that nobody can miss right over the counter is our menu sir."
In a sarcastic-er tone

So random fact. Chick-fil-A has a back-up plan if there was ever a problem with the chicken market (high prices, disease, etc.), and it's a full pork menu. I wonder how it would do.

Grits isn't on most McDonalds menus, but they have it.
And I responded with the same amount of sarcasm that was thrown my way.

Not sure if you are familiar with the concept of sarcasm. If the guy would have said "Why yes sir, we actually only serve burgers here. We just call it chick fil a for shits and gigs." That would have been sarcastic. Not telling you what was actually the case, that they only serve chicken, as the menu above you clearly showed.

You kind of just answered why chic-fil-a gets so much love (at least here in Louisiana) As far as fast food establishments go their customer service is an anomaly in a sea of pathetic fast food customer service. If I'm being honest, the food at CFA isn't that great. However, I would much rather eat at CFA than deal with the deadbeats that work at the other fast food joints around here, especially, but not limited to Burger King and Wendy's.
Sorry Shenequa, I don't feel like "holdin' on" at the speaker while there are only 2 cars in the drive through just so you can drag arse. I likewise don't feel like waiting at the first window until you tell me to go just so there is no evidence of how inefficient the clowns in there are running the operation.
It's fast food. I'm not expecting a gourmet meal, but I do expect to be able to get in and out quickly. That is the whole reason I'm there. Even when busy, CFA does a pretty good job of moving things along.

I wouldn't necessarily say "douche" is the right adjective. Moron might be more apropos. Like you said, there's picture of their menu options right behind the counter where you place your order. Take 30 seconds to look it over. Do you see "hamburger" listed on there? If not, it's a good bet that they don't serve one. Plus, it's not like Chic-fil-a has ever really hidden the fact that they only serve chicken in some cloud of mystery.
The kid probably though he was being sarcastic because it was such a dumb question. The answer was literally printed right behind the counter. Next time I go to McDonalds I'm going to ask "do you serve tacos?" Then I'm going to get all indignant when they look at me like an idiot and I'm going to respond "Well Jack in the Box does!!!"

Especially on an LSU board....holy shite theres a Canes circle jerk every week. They then get surprised that there was one in Athens and I know what I'm talking about.

I'm not missing it. It's just eye opening when you get out of areas surrounded by low income cesspools, the service gets so much better. But even still in the good areas, Chic Fil A has a line wrapped around it. There's one about 600 yds from one of the Hardee's I was talking about and people literally park on the street to go eat there. I just don't get it. The service isn't THAT good.

That means they are doing something right.
