Canes is better than them, hell, even a Whatachicken from Whataburger is better than them.

One of the things that allows a place like Cane's or CFA to run so smoothly is the simplification of the menu. At Canes' they really only deal with chicken strips and the way they serve them. CFA only has to work with chicken. I know they each have a little more than just that but you get the idea. That makes it much easier on the employees.

Take McDonald's at the other extreme. They sell hamburgers. They sell just as much chicken as they do beef (nuggets drive a lot of that). They have a much bigger breakfast. All of that makes it much harder to work there and run good operations.

As an employee looking for a minimum wage or lower wage job, which example do you want to work for? The easier job that is less stressful (plus the other perks mentioned earlier) or the more complicated place? Easy answer for most and McDonald's is going to generally end up with lower quality people. It's a double whammy now.

I'm not saying CFA couldn't roll out burgers, but I wouldn't expect them to keep the same level of service if they had a major expansion to their menu.

Pretty much any place that isn't a crap hole and you have a good shot at getting service close to Chic Fil A.

All the Hardee's around where I work must all be managed by the same person. Above and beyond service. I'll stop in and grab a burger sometimes if I'm running errands for lunch. Manager will be walking around asking if everything is alright as if it was an actual sit down restaurant. Food is always fresh and good. They have one of those "ring the bell if you got good service" things on the way out. It's so good, I've actually contemplated ringing it, but then I realize that's f**king dumb because they are supposed to give good service and I'm just shocked because I've been programmed that doesn't exist in fast food.

Pretty much all the fast food restaurants around my house have pretty good employees. Chic Fil A's service doesn't stand out. Now I realize when I was back in Louisiana, they were the only place that was like that. I just don't think the food at Chic Fil A is very good. I know it's good service, but I don't get the love.

It's not bad, but it ain't some amazing delicacy either.

It really shouldn't surprise anyone why most southern folks believe Chick Fil A is some amazing Mecca of fast food.

Too cool to ring a bell and give positive feedback?

I've only had Chic Fil A about 4 or 5 times in my life. And while their customer service was always top notch the food was only mediocre. The chicken always seemed greasy. The waffle fries were very good though.

Canes used to be the GOAT 15 years ago but their quality has gone to shite in recent years.

basically, Louisiana has the absolute most shitty customer service. nothing is fast, nothing is efficient - no one gives a frick

so, of course, if youre ran half-way decent (like cfa) youll stand out.

No, because they would probably frick up everything they've built by trying to do too many things.

They one thing, and they do it well.

Besides, the capital costs to retro every location for hamburgers would be ridiculous.

Yes, I am.

Their positive feedback is me going back there and raving about it on a message board. I don't get a damned bell rang every time I turn in a report on time or run a calculation.

CFA is very controlling in all corporate aspects. Whether it's expansion and real estate deals, or franchising or hiring or giving, they keep a tight leash on things, which is the primary reason, IMO, they maintain a high quality of service and product.

But, in the end it's a very good company and worth supporting, IMO, even if you aren't obsessed with their food or service.
