I think whatever you have right now will be where you’re at in regards to ownership of cars/homes/land. As far as basic needs go, it will be the same for everyone.

That's kind of what I was thinking.

You have to completely de-couple from today's definitions of success and advancement for that level of AI takeover to be appealing.

Ai will never take over majority of jobs - it would collapse the economy.
Understand that people with power understand this, the people who pull the levers are not purely in the tech industry. The financial, manufacturing, energy etc will not allow it.

Their utopian vision is that such a surplus of goods exists that everyone can have anything they want and need.

So then the question begs who gets to determine who gets how much of what.

It’s all nonsense, of course. This is to sell you on a future utopia so tech can rob you of everything today.

But what happens to workers when the boss can tell the tool to perform the task? With AI, the boss can, or soon will be able to, tell the tool to perform the task, at least until the boss gets replaced by AI. Task Examples: Take orders from our customers. Deliver the items in this truck to our customers. Draft a contract for our customer. Draft a training document for our workforce. Create and optimize this chemical process in our facility. Manage this project to meet project requirements. Create a 30-second commercial for our customer. Draft an investment plan for our customer. Diagnose and prescribe a treatment for our customer.

At least for a period of time work will shift from the workers doing the work, to the workers telling AI what to do and verifying that it gets done. We will still need someone to tell AI what needs to be done at least for a period of time. Now during this time, you can probably scale back quite a bit in terms of how many workers need to feed AI info to get desired results, but there will still need to be human intervention for a while, IMO.

find Elon’s theory of “no money needed” full of holes. So does that mean that I can have the following Private Jet Mansions in the most elite coasts Best food and drink

Exactly. There are two routes this can go: abundance means everyone gets nice things but we run out of natural resources quickly to produce them. If everyone has a jet, 5 cars, mansion, our natural resources quickly deplete.

Or

Govt regulates consumption which means most likely everyone is basically poor with no more than is needed to survive and be relatively comfortable

Such a system cannot hold long term. The free market and ability to work and innovate to get wealth drives the economy and innovation. And currency use regulates consumption and prevents rapid depletion of resources since things become expensive when supply is short thus limiting consumption until supply is equal to demand.

Not to mention the social problems of a society that doesn’t have to work. High levels of depression, drug and alcohol abuse as idle minds and hands are never a good thing

Gen Xers and Millennials with rich Boomer parents, uncles, aunts, etc will be inheriting Trillions over the next two decades. Those people will be fine. The others? Well, good luck.

Some are happy to get up and punch the clock to take care of their family. Some bust their asses through hard work to make a bit more. Some hustle their asses off to build things to really get ahead.

The tech billionaires don’t understand regular people. They think these people are all miserable for having to work a job for a middle class life.

They don’t understand the pride a truck driver has when he can haul a heavy load down an icy mountain highway and time his downshifts just perfect with the Jake brake to prevent losing control.

Or when a mechanic brings back to life an engine that hasn’t run in years

A farmer watching his harvest of a bumper crop he worked many long hours to grow

A lineman working overtime to bring power back to people after a storm

A oil driller hitting the right spot and striking oil

A fisherman bringing in a big haul

An attorney winning his first big case

People live for that shite and taking it away is not a good thing

I no longer have a job and have no interest in making money even though I make professional level furniture and cabinetry.

But between woodworking and fishing, it keeps me motivated and productive. I look forward to going to my wood shop and making nice shite, whether it's a raised panel door, a cutting board or a bed.

I don't do any of it for profit, but for the satisfaction and personal challenge.

But most people left to their own devices for 24 hours a day would be a shitshow.

I hope this is all fear porn, but if AI eventually disrupts most jobs (including physical labor), and we end up living off of gov't UBI, won't it create a caste system of those with assets before and those without? How would one move up in the world if you have no ability to make more money through hard work? I know this is the more dystopian viewpoint, but it's kind of unsettling to think you may just be stuck where you are. I'm not even sure how you prepare for would may be coming.

What? You mean elites seizing up all wealth, land, and assets and then introducing a system where we the people with nothing just get to watch videos and eat processed foods and be content but then when we all revolt they all have security bunkers to wait us out or pull a Fallout.

That doesn’t sound like something that would ever really happen.

Its not fear porn, its just a question of how long it will take.
