Because everything in Louisiana sucks, right?

no, because Houston has such a density of dealerships that it creates a more competitive market. thus, prices are lower

Why go to a liberal arts college in Hamilton, NY when you could go almost anywhere else?

Oh, and if she's going to LSU... he's soon to be an ex-boyfriend. Congrats.

It's just easy with sooooo many dealerships and volume. Recently bought two vehicles since moving to Houston several years ago. Send out emails to every dealership, go to the one or two with the best deals. Then start pitting them against each other. Not in a bad way, just say sorry, I've got a better deal. They'll ask to see it, then likely tell you some BS about how their price includes blah, blah, blah and this one doesn't, but to keep your business, they'll match it. Then the other place calls back and so on.

I got a decent deal on my vehicle this way. I got an amazing deal on my wife's car this way. Literally had my phone blowing up from different dealerships when I was at the other. When I walked out of one and made my final decision at another because they made an offer I couldn't refuse, I had 20+ missed calls from the dealership I walked out of. They are so much more willing to deal.

Colgate gave him the best offer, I guess. Several Ivy League schools he applied to didn't offer as much

This is the car she wants, and she deserves it. Graduating early this spring with a 4.3+ GPA and already accepted a full-ride to LSU. What I’m saving on tuition I can spend on a nice new vehicle.

Her boyfriend scored a 35 on the ACT and is going to Colgate to major in physics

So they will be broken up within the year

Stop worrying about him and his fancy act score and worry about the mile of penis waiting at Bogies

But LOL

Lulz. frick a new or expensive car. I would rather invest the money I save. Just think if everyone drove a paid off car and put the extra money in their 401k. Society would be much better for it.

Easier to get good deals on cars from the large dealerships in Houston. That was the thought process before the flood in Houston, not sure how that has changed the auto market now and people coming to Houston to buy cars.

Was this after the flood? I'll be in the market for a new car soon. I've been holding out. What dealership did you ultimately end up buying from?

When living in Louisiana, knew many people who went to Houston to buy cars. They would look around in Louisiana for a month or so then go to Houston for the weekend and end up saving about 5K from the best deal they could get in Louisiana. Not sure if thats still true or not.

Colgate

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just isn't the same.

Either he's an idiot for choosing Colgate for that major with those scores or you're an idiot for choosing Colgate when you made that story up.

Which is it?

I got both a few months before the flood, but most of that should have settled down.

I found the quotes from email were similar to LA deals. But when you went in person is when dealing got even better. So you were starting off at LA level deals, not MSRP. Granted im older and wiser now, so that could ha e helped as well.
