***POSSIBLE UPDATE ALERT ***
Ok, just heard something interesting, and if true
This will likely come out once the arrest warrant is unsealed:
The murderer's knife sheath was found under Ethan's (male victim) body. This is how the DNA was obtained.
Ethan's legs were sliced all the way down to the hamstring.
One of female victims was stabbed 54 times and her face was beaten so badly that every bone in her face was broken, she was unrecognizable. (I assume this is Kaylee).
One of the surviving roommates came upstairs after hearing loud noises and yelled at the murderer (who she mistook for Ethan) to "shut the frick up". This could be the reason the murderer left in a haste and forgot to grab the knife sheath. Could have been spooked by an unexpected encounter with the roommate.
The white elantra was only identified because a neighbor's cat set off a Ring doorbell camera at the time the murderer was fleeing the scene.
Agents surveilled his parents house for 4 days posing as garbage men, went through the family's garbage to obtain Bryan's DNA for comparison to the DNA found on the knife sheath.
Got the sheath part right I believe. Guessing your source is pretty well informed.

When I see a vegan starting at defensive end in the NFL maybe I'll look at it a bit different. Until then, I'm with y'all

JFC. Who cares? Why is every 3rd message about why they were stopped and who authorized it?

shite, that means the likelihood of getting the death penalty is out the door. Because he'll plea bargain to save his own life.
Unless he continues his stupidity and goes to trial.
I wonder what his parents think now? My parents would support me at 1st but after seeing this info they would bail if that was me.

That’s the first thing I did when someone mentioned he liked to run. I wonder if removed data or most of it was private

Possibly, but he may also try to prove how smart he is and plead not guilty, thinking he can beat the evidence against him.
He's a pure psychopath and a textbook narcissist.

I just read the entire affidavit, and for such a "smart, intelligent" individual with a Phd related to criminal investigation, he sure is stupid
Dude got caught in his own car in the neighborhood by like a dozen cameras throughout his commission of the murders, was seen firsthand by one of the roommates, left his sheath complete with DNA ON THE SCENE, had his phone on him that night (he thought turning it off an hour beforehand and turning it back on an hour afterward wouldn't be obvious, even though he left it on long enough to show him leaving his apartment and heading the direction of Moscow, then turned it back on early enough to show him heading back to the apartment from the direction of Moscow).
He stalked and staked out the house 12 TIMES over the course of a few months leading up to the murders, and had his phone on him every time. He also drove past the house again at 9am, roughly 5 hours after the murders but before the girls called the cops, and left his phone on
What a dumbass.

Sheath of the knife was left at the scene. That is where the DNA came from police say.

What an idiot
Man, I bet he was in a heap of frenzy when he left the crime scene and couldn't locate the sheath. Just turning his car and apartment upside down trying to locate it. frick him. I hope he rots.

Depending on where it was found in the house he lived close enough that a good lawyer could maybe create reasonable doubt on how the sheath it got there.

One correction.
The affidavit says it was found next to Madisons body.

Got the sheath part half right.
From the affidavit, the sheath was found on the bed next to Madison Mogen's body. A single source of male DNA was recovered from the button snap of the knife.
I also saw on Twitter that Kohberger's parents had done 23andMe and that was how they made the DNA match. Which makes sense as to how they were able to do it so fast. It wasn't a 2nd or 3rd cousin match where they had to go back to great-great-grandparents and build multiple family trees forward. It was simple parent/child connection.

The sheeth being left at the scene is the catalyst for him getting caught.
All the evidence dominoes fall after that. They wouldn't be able to connect all the other evidence without it and 100% of it would be circumstantial at best...if they would even know to look at him as a suspect.
Holy shite, this is a lucky break for the police.

so did they basically know he was the killer early on but publicly acted clueless while building up their case on him?
