7 hours till 911 called has me confused
Very confusing. She walked out of her room a total of three times during the murders, once because she thought she heard someone crying. On the third time she walks out of her room she sees a masked stranger and was frightened enough to lock her bedroom door. I can almost understand her not calling the police, but at least she could have called or texted her roommates to see if they were okay??
So strange.

And his car was reported by WSU police on November 25 when it was found by an WSU officer in a campus parking lot. Campus police had been notified to be on the lookout for a white Elantra that day.
I think Nov 25th was when Moscow cops asked police in surrounding areas to look out for white elantras. After midnight Nov 29th WSU police ran a search for any registered on campus and 30 minutes after another WSU cop reported the vehicle at its listed address.
It mentions looking at his DL, but it doesn’t go into dates on when Moscow police actually looked at DL or started looking at August traffic stop in Moscow where he gave officer his phone number. It mentions after not seeing number in listed phones connecting to tower servicing victims‘ house during timeframe of murders it was Dec 23rd when they got search warrant to look at phone records further outside timeframe of 3am-5am on Nov 13th which then found out about leaving apartment and turning off phone.

Might have to factor in states of inebriation.

But if there were 2 girls awake at 4am that ordered door dash there's a damn good chance they are being loud as hell listening to music and shite. Partying it up.
Two girls did not order door dash. Kernodle (Xana) ordered the door dash.
The two girls on the third floor were in bed, so likely had the lights off.
Kernodle's room was located on the west side of the home, which would not have been visible from where he presumably parked. So if her light was on, he may not have known.

Sounds like he kept passing by the house, starting at around 3:30am. He was probably waiting to see that all of the lights were out, and assumed at that point that they were all asleep.

I agree UNTIL she saw a man all dressed in black wearing a MASK leave from the patio sliding door walk right past her at 4am AFTER she heard someone’s here (but didn’t see a car) then heard crying and I’ll help you and more crying then silence and must have heard the dog barking. And again this man wasn’t parked in their driveway so he obviously didn’t belong there
He was wearing a mask covering his nose and mouth, and unfortunately that's not super strange these days.
I lived in houses with 3 other girls when we were in college and you cannot believe the noises and shite you would hear in the middle of the night. It was never abnormal to hear crying, fighting, etc. Boyfriends would come and go at all hours of the night. Sometimes there would be a random guy there that 2 of the 4 of us did not know. Add alchohol and potentially drugs on top of that, and your reaction to seeing a guy you don't know leaving your house is not the same as it would be for a post-college adult who lives alone or with family.

Is it just me or hearing the "there's someone here" part is one of the more freaky aspects of all this.

I feel terrible for her. I do. I guess she thought since he was on foot that he could have still been out there.
I suppose she just locked herself in her room and prayed she wasn’t next. I would have called 911 quietly and begged them to send someone incognito or something rather than sirens etc because I’d be afraid that he might still be there and would try to kill me b4 they arrived to save me. She had to have been thinking she was next.

Yes! You KNOW your roomies
You know the difference between someone’s here with delight he’s our guest and someone’s here but isn’t supposed to be. She heard it in her voice

quote:it also says that investigators think the murders happened between 4am and 4:25am...I guess this accounts for clocks on cameras and cell towers (and witness interviews) to be slightly inaccurate...otherwise, how can a camera catch him driving at 4:04 but police think the murders could have happened before that?
The affidavit said that his car is seen entering the neighborhood at 4:04. Door dash was delivered at 4:00.

I really don't think she sat awake, waiting, for 6-7 hours. While having a phone in her hands. As others also said, it makes sense that she didn't think there was a dangerous threat, and she went to sleep/passed out since the house went back to being VERY quiet.

That along with the whimpering heard from the neighboring camera would keep me up every single night for the rest of my life if I were the father of one of these kids. I couldn't imagine knowing how frightened my child was before experiencing this horror.

Was that Ethan though? That’s what i can’t figure out. Was he crying over Xana saying it’s ok I’m going to help you right before she died or was it some horror film creeper it’s ok I’m going to help you from BK?

You are making things up as much as I am to fit your narrative. We don't know.
We know the roomate that survived heard a lot and went out of her room 3 times. To me, that means she was likely awake. Likely drunk, listening to music, and on social media.
We know Xana ordered door dash that got there at 4am. Again, likely awake partying waiting and eating her food.
I've been to my fair share of 2-4am partying and its rarely quiet. But, as you said, maybe I'm wrong and it was.

D.M. stated she opened her door for the third time after she heard the crying and saw a male figure clad in black clothing and a mask that covered the person's mouth and nose walking towards her. D.M. described the figure as 5' I 0" or taller, male, not very muscular, but athletically built with bushy eyebrows. The male walked past D.M. as she stood in a "frozen shock phase." The male walked towards the back sliding glass door. D.M. locked herself in her bedroom after seeing the male.
After rereading
It seems he was just wearing a Covid type mask???

Let's stop pretending the roommate wasn't disturbed by what she saw and heard. She told the officer she was "frozen and shocked" after seeing the masked person. We know her state of mind. It wasn't simply "Oh it was probably just another partier wearing a COVID mask." I don't even think the affidavit specified what type of mask.
This of course doesn't mean the roommate was an accomplice in the murders. But to act like she was reasonable in going back to sleep, simply because it was a party house, doesn't match up with what she told the officer and the fact that there was no party going on at that time.

Correct. I was responding to only Xana ordering the door dash. It very well could have been an order for 3-4 people. I've often times ordered a late night pizza for the whole apt and one or two people passed out before it arrived.
I'm simply saying, there's more evidence there were people awake when he entered then there is evidence they were all asleep.
