Beautiful country and this on top

quote:

Idaho police are starting to enforce a new law targeting slow drivers using the passing lanes of highways. Two drivers have been cited as of July 27 for driving too slowly in the passing lane since the law took effect July 1, the Idaho Press reported Monday. Idaho State Police have given warnings to three other drivers. Most people expect the general traffic to stay on the right lane and leave the left lanes open for passing, said Lt. Shawn Staley.

Denis Leary won't be happy about this.

I hope Idaho doesn't become too popular. One of the scenic places with affordable property.

This weekend I was wondering if La kept track of how many tickets they gave out for this infraction.

I will buy a beer for every State Trooper that writes one of these.

I drove through eastern Idaho a few weeks ago and was very impressed. River Valley area

The South looked like a trash dump when I came back.

It’s Idaho, bro. That’s like 25% of the drivers in a day.

Even better than citing people that hog the passing lane:

quote:

The law also allows drivers to go 15 mph (24 kph) over the speed limit on a two-lane road to pass a vehicle going below the speed limit.

passing lane

People just call it the “left lane” and have no idea how to properly use it.

I wouldn’t be disappointed to see another driver test required once you hit 50-60 years old

This is already against the law in Louisiana.

Too bad Baton Rouge's finest are spending time checking people's inspection stickers instead.

Idaho has already been discovered by Californians. It's gotta be the next Colorado.

At this rate they will write 27 tickets in the first year the law is enacted. Not enough.

Florida has this same law and wrote 9 tickets statewide for it last year. They need to start enforcing it .

Everyone thought Idaho was turning blue back in the mid 1990's with all the Californians moving in. Turned out it was mostly conservatives getting out of California.

I'm betting both vehicles had Texas license plates.

Drove from SLC up to NE Idaho near Yellowstone last summer. Speed limits on I-15 and US highways are 80mph. I was still getting blown off the road doing 80-85 in some sparsely populated areas.

What makes you say this?

I've been trying to talk my brothers and friends in to investing around Coeur d'Alene. Am I making a mistake?

Drove through Idaho in May. Outside of Boise, the speed limit on the interstate was 80 which was awesome.

It's getting expensive there already. Sand Point is less expensive and more scenic

You know this means on a road with one lane in each direction and not the interstate.. which is 4 lanes. I've never seen anyone get a ticket for speeding when passing on a 2 lane road.

Driving slow in the left lane has been against the law in Louisiana for a few years now. It's good to see Idaho join the 21st century.

Louisiana could balance the budget and lower taxes if police targeted the huge amount of left lane assholes in this state.
