Down the screet. Just on the other side of I-10.

30 years of grease and butter abandoned for new digs. Will need at least 5 more years to start to replace.

Waffle House is the GOAT chain breakfast spot IMO. This is the one on College Dr that doesn’t look like most other Waffle Houses, and shares a wall with Port Royale.

Lived in Fairway view apartments (next to WH) immediately after my divorce. Would take the kids to that WH for Sunday breakfast. There would be a group of plank road trannies eating breakfast after their long saturday night of working

I doubt that smell will ever leave that building. I remember the smell of grease would be deep in your clothes after sitting at that diner bar

This.... Louies was the end of ever epic night during my time at LSU, saw so many fights broken up by that 400 lb black cook... so many times a plate of cajun hashbrowns saved my life..... we threw a ton of house parties and making it on enough to be part of the 3 am Louies run meant something.

When we were in school there was a policeman at the door every night acting as the doorman, even telling people where they could sit. Usually it was the same guy and he seemed to like the place himself. Most people in the 80's/90's seemed to be drunk and happy sitting in there.

The food is still really good, just wish they were open for dinner.

Clearly you’ve never had good homemade chicken salad. CSC is supremely mid

Yep, CSC is just ok, as is Calvin's. Best chicken salad in BR is at La Madeleine.

Wasn't there a Howard Johnson's, Denny's & Rick's lounge all connected together on College, or am I confusing the Denny's with WH?

Place was dirty and dark, yet I got hammered drunk and drank some of the most expensive liquor I've ever had in there.

One of the best selections of bourbon and whiskey in the city.

I mean...it's good food for sure. But it's food that hits different coming down from all day tailgating and a game or partying.
