Something about this picture is just so captivating to me, and I'm not sure what it is.. what a great picture
It's the French Market in 1880

Could it be that it is rife with the paucity of effluvia?

Don't know if it's been mention but around 2000 the times picayune came out with a great book of iconic photos from the late 1800's to then. I have a copy laying around.

Just saying. You defend the shithole at every turn. Blame tourist for walking around drunk at all hours and stepping 5 feet off of the piss Blvd and getting robbed and raped.
How about that couple who both got raped by that queer black that made the dude suck his dick after raping his gf. Great town you got there. Culture is great and they are such a blessing in our country
Glass houses and stuff.

Never claimed a glass house here but you people blame tourists for getting raped for walking a block off of the tourist route. Such a great town you live in.

No one blames them for being raped. The problem is people come to New Orleans and think it's Mardi Gras all year. In this case you keep bringing up the whole thing went down at 3am at a gas station by Armstrong Park. You have to be smarter than that.

Line in !967 to get Saints Season Tickets.
My brother is in that photo with some of his Tulane fraternity bros. I took over his 50-yard line seats about fifteen years ago.

I'll say as I've always said, New Orleans is the biggest paradox I've ever comprehended, much good and much evil, much great and much horrible. The latter could be more limited by better leadership but we don't have that now.

Nailed it. If managed properly it can be one of the greatest cities in the world. There are far more good people here than bad. It's just that the bad ones we have are really fricking bad.

These threads just make me think what could of been. Instead of a regional tourist destination, NOLA could be a powerhouse city in all facets if not for poor demographics and terrible leadership.

I think it is a great town. Think I will stay.
Beginning to suspect you do not think it is great. Would not recommend you move to NOLA.
Have a nice day.

You're right. New Orleans is the only place in this country where rapes occur

A good start, and a show of good faith would be posting up about 15 police snipers per night. It wouldn't take long for the message to get out that the rapes, murders, robberies, and burglaries will no longer be tolerated.
Consider it kind of like Bengal Roach spray, but made out of lead.
