Really cool stuff, click link.
New Orleans pictures and its not a slide show !!
Too many pics to post but here's a few:
ca. 1880 French Market
1890 Children playing barefoot in the French Quarter
ca. 1900 Cotton Exchange
1905 Milk Cart
1910 St Charles Ave
1923 Opening of Industrial Canal
1929 Street Car Strike
1930s Mardi Gras
1944 Italian POWs attend mass at St Louis Cathedral
1949 Old Absinthe House on Bourbon St
PS - Cant validate, but I was told the taping of dollars to bar/restaurant walls began at the Old Absinthe House. Sailors who just got paid would write their name on the bills and stick to the wall for the next time they returned to New Orleans they'd have some drinking money.

great pics. I've always heard we treated European POWs really well. Neat pic of them in the cathedral.
I really like the one of St. Charles with the two cars. 1910.

look at the 60s and 70s...
protests and mass shootings
yet we are always told none of that happened back then, only now

Could you imagine the shite that would happen if someone was protesting with a sign that read, "All I want for Christmas is a clean white school"....
Youd have people offended by wanting an all white school plus people offended that you wrote Christmas.

This is some serious Hurricane response time here.

so, these folks are celebrating the end of a war by burning shite?

you should read the remarks people made after the Upstairs lounge massacre of 27 homosexuals burned to death at a club
"What will they bury the ashes of queers in? Fruit jars.”
The press quoted a cab driver who hoped “the fire burned their dresses off.”
Largest Massacre of Gay people prior to orlando happened in French Quarter
