Rand Paul has suggested some temporary amnesty like solutions that I think are a good compromise if it is paired with permanent border security and policy/regulatory changes to curtail some of the fraud and abuse we see these days.

What I hate is the indiscriminate enforcement, and erosion of the removal proceedings procedure that has happened the last 18 months. I had no issues with Trump 1.0's enforcement policies, but this time around it has gone overboard IMO. For what hasn't been litigated yet in the circuits, like a lot of the BIA precedential decisions, a Democrat AG can undo with a stroke of a pen, and it will be a mass amnesty.

So in summation, you don't really have a solution to illegals that don't fall into the "criminal" category. You could've saved us all some time and said from the jump that you don't like mass deportations because you favor amnesty. “One individual who has received significant attention on social media is 19-year-old Omar Monzon-Vasquez Anderson, an illegal alien from Guatemala. According to ICE, Monzon unlawfully entered the United States in 2020 with his mother and was released pending immigration proceedings.

On July 27, 2026, ICE states that Monzon previously attempted to purchase a rifle in West Monroe. Federal authorities allege that, as an individual unlawfully present in the United States, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

ICE further alleges that Monzon falsely represented himself as a United States citizen during the attempted purchase, a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 911. These allegations constitute federal felony offenses and are being handled through the federal judicial process.”

Although this isn’t the reason he was detained, I’m glad ICE kept investigating. If you aren’t a citizen, don’t do things that will get you deported. Of course his mom still claims he came here with her through the legal asylum process through Arizona, but she better be able to prove that. That doesn’t matter at this point, though.
