I don’t think any of the models completely “nailed” it like they did Ida/ Laura.

Ida and Laura were a lot more straight forward forecasts than Ian, especially Laura.

The nature of Ian's approach made it exponentially more difficult to forecast landfall with any real specificity. That's one reason to tip your hat to the NHC and how they used the cone from the beginning.

Ida and Laura were very straightforward. Though Laura had a few more track questions late, but the NHC nailed that one.

We basically had to figure out where they would form, after that the strengthening and trajectory weren't in much doubt.

The track on this one, especially with how little mistakes would matter huge for different areas, was not nearly as simple.

Why do yall care about a downvoter?

I live when I get a dedicated downvoter who follows me around. It means I must have owned them so thoroughly that was the only way they could respond.

Closing out Naples. This is my buddies backyard. That is not his boat. The owner told him he was going to rent a crane and lift it over his house. My buddy said frick off, get a barge and lift it out onto the canal like you should. We are back home. Our power and internet miraculously came back on due to the hard work of electricians from Missouri. Thank you guys! I can now watch the Buckeyes tomorrow and the F1 race on Sunday in the comfort of my own home. I am so happy but so sad for those who suffered massive damage.

I75 in Norhport has been shut down due to the Myakka River rising. Rumors of a bridge collapse but not confirmed. I have a family member currently sitting in standstill for several hours

We have two rentals in North Port. One the neighborhood is under at least three feet of water. We're trying to get in today to rescue our renter. The other rental is on a large hill and the water is so high its almost in the garage. Our renters family had to send in rafts to rescue them. Very surreal
