I have seen damage from many hurricanes, and every single time I am amazed at the utter devastation these powerful ones leave behind.

Let’s just hope this is bullshite like we were being told was going on in the Superdome during Katrina:
BREAKING NOW: Lee County, Florida Sheriff Reporting HUNDREDS OF FATALITIES following Hurricane Ian's Catastrophic Landfall – The area Includes Cape Coral, Fort Meyers and Fort Meyers Beach...
NO. They said hundreds of "casualties". That includes injured people, not deaths. I hate when people take these statements and then turn them into hyperbole on Twitter.

I mean, given that probably a sizable portion of the workers have flooded apartments or houses, I find it to be a bit fricked up.

It came off with 65 mph winds and has time over water. Its going to be very slow to pick up mph though. Its huge. It takes time to wrap that back up in a meaningful (like 100 mph winds) way.

But you’re okay with Home Depot, Lowes, Taco Bell, McDonald’s opening up as soon as they can?
But Disney World, the happiest place on Earth, has to stay closed.

Stories like this right here are the reason "staying" isn't an option for me when the chances of shite going sideways are so high.
I'm not the greatest swimmer, I damn sure can't drink all that water, and I don't have gills. So, if it is alright with everyone I'm just gonna frick right off if a big bastard of a hurricane is going to hit North Alabama.

Talked to this very nice gentleman on Bonita Beach who rode out the storm at home. His 2nd floor was overcome with surge, the house began to rock. During a calm in the storm he dove off his porch into the water and swam to the green house for safety.
