I just got internet back and not sure how long I will have it. Can some one give me an update on the path of the storm (I’m on Sebring, FL btw)? Thanks!
Were it me, I'd fricking check with the National Hurricane Center, National Weather Service, NOAA and other folks who track that shite for a living rather than ask a bunch of goobers on a sports message board.

See now what is the fricking point of staying through that? Just utter stupidity.
Bet they’ll never stay again.

If she would have jogged a few miles West LC would have gone under.
Seeing the surge maps was enough for me that night. I went to bed after that.

Anyone have an update on the tree from Surge cam 5? Would be nice to know how the little guy made out.

You would be surprised how much some of these goobers know and how informative all the Florida locals have been today.

Ian is losing a lot of his structure now, which is good. Hopefully he will weaken as rapidly and as much as possible.

Wasn’t the worst of the storm surge from Laura around Rockefeller refuge where it’s sparsely inhabited? Maybe some others can confirm?

All of those people already had a suboptimal time with Irma so it makes less than zero sense why they would elect to stay through another one.
Selfish stupidity

Laura sent BIL’s kennel through his windshield under his carport and insurance totaled it.

Crazy how small Harvey is in comparison to the others.
What's crazy is that the entire hurricane wind field of Charley could fit into the eye of Ian...

Some say it’s still out there getting it’s “Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubeman” impression on

Not much change in the number of Cat 4 storms but a huge change in how many are reaching the USA.
Its an interesting question, and one thats going to get researched a lot (if it hasnt started already).
Warmer water is probably a player but of course its not that simple.
Irma was a monster in the open Atlantic for like a week and a half. It wasnt a similar case to the others, because it was weakening some at landfall.
I dont remember the forecast details on Harvey. So ill ignore it for now.
Michael had a trough come in snd what would have been shear aligned with the motion and vented it instead. Let it bomb. Interesting case.
Laura and Ida had an obvious anticyclone over the Gulf to vent them and shear never got there. Both moved fast enough to not upwell. They were very similar storms.
This one, I dont have an explanation for the strengthening we saw. At least nothing more than a hypothesis right now.
One thing worth noting is the location of formation. All of these didnt really get going until there was no way away from land.
Like I said, interesting question.

If cell towers are down what does that mean for hotspots? Don't they operate differently? Just curious as I'm about to try and reach out to multiple colleagues via text, but if personal email works better I have a few and think we might could link up that way.
