The thing is it’s irrepressible. That goes deep. Public joy.

This actually looks like a good time.

In 2023 if you still expect any kind of customer service from a Walmart that's kinda on you.

How long do you believe it will be before the big box stores finally move out of New Orleans like they are in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, New York City, Seattle, Miami and Chicago?

Part of it may be online shopping but smash & grab and shop lifting has become the norm and it. Fortunately, we have not been afflicted by riots, burning and looting to the degree other places have but it could come.

I detest that store. ONe of the worst shopping experiences of any retail establishment in the entire world.

Shut 'er down.

I never went to the Wal-mart on Tchoup for years based on the old reputation and some twerking rap video that was filmed in there even though I lived in the area. The reviews used to be hilarious. I got desperate once during Mardi Gras and went and was pleasantly surprised. I mean, Walmart is Walmart, but it was actually clean and well-stocked. I have been many times since then. Surprisingly I've had no major issues other than typical Wal-mart stuff. Pretty shocking really.

I honestly feel bad for people that some impromptu music like that wouldn't make them smile. Unless I am going to a fire I will stop and listen to a busker pretty much every time. There is so much misery in this world the idea of choosing to turn joy into misery baffles me.

Agreed. Sorry if the customers waiting are so fricking grumpy that a five minute break for fun ruins their day.

And OP made it sound like they were doing a smash and grab. I literally opened the video thinking they were looting the store while doing a second line. Which would have been hilarious. But it’s just good natured people.

I guess if OP (and a few others in this thread) had their way, the capitalist machine would never have any breaks in its operating system. No humanism allowed.

I’ve been to Wal mart grand openings in NO where they second lined. It was 7am and it was fun. Great seeing a corporate company letting the grand opening be fun. Sorry for partying.

Fwiw, this was at the Chalmette Walmart and not the Tchoup one.

Seems they were celebrating new management at the Salon inside the store. So yeah, a grand opening of sorts. 4 years ago.
