Weed has been legal in lousiana a while and it hasn't affected my social groups smoking habits at all really. The ones that didn't smoke before didn't start smoking because it's legal.

Some will take a gummy every now and then if they arent going out.

Im glad there's a database of who does it now and we can track their license plates quickly through AI on our car dashboards.

I make sure when one pops I pass them in traffic rather than sitting behind them

I dont care if they legalize gummies or brownies but smoking should be kept illegal. It sticks to high heaven. If you want to get high I dont care but I dont want to smell that crap.

Go to the nice parts of town.

Yall ever seen anyone walked out their office because of failing a random drug test? I have. A customer of mine in oil and gas. Woman was a single mom with a decent job and destroyed her family because she wanted to ride puff the magic dragon on the weekends. Sad.

So reducing the black market marijuana trade, and making it not a crime to posses marijuana didn't reduce crime?

I get not wanting to smell it but 'seeing weed shops' is an odd thing to get worked up about. Most of the ones I've seen look like your average commercial business.

Here's the one near me. Fairly bland and inoffensive, as are the majority of dispos I've seen in several states:

"I used to be pro-legalization but seeing businesses actually sell it is too much" seems duplicitous. What did you think legalization was going to look like?

Now they're talking about a new app that lets people pay to have someone play slot machines on their behalf.

It's just a waste of real estate and too much of it. Do we really need 10 weed stores or vape stores? Especially the vape crap. Can't you just buy that online?

I mean I know I'm in the minority but I hate when a new building pops up and it's some dumb shite like vape, self storage, carwash, etc.

I think the real discussion here isn't about statistical crime, but rather does all that make where we live a better place to live? I was firmly in the "let people do what they want" camp, but our population is so dumb I think it sort of is up to us to save them from themselves a bit TBQH.

Sports betting to me isn't gambling, it's an investment. I won 70% of my ATS bets on college football last year. My returns were infinitely higher than the S&P 500. I'm not saying I'm a sports betting master because I only bet from Sept to Dec on college football. That's it, no other sports. However my returns are much better than my 401k.

And where did it all start? Weed. The drug they said back in HS which they believed was not a big deal.

Did it start with weed, or did it start with finding illegal drugs from and associating with actual criminals instead of say a legal market?

Also, curious if your friends had any alcohol before they started with the weed. To me that's the true gateway drug that no one seems to acknowledge.

The amount of vape stores out there is a mystery to me. But, as far as weed shops', I guess it depends on where you live. We have one for an area with around 150k people. When I lived in a more populated area in the Seattle metro there were more, but they tended to be clustered together due to rules about distance from schools, churches, playgrounds, and residential areas. So depending on where your day takes you, you might see several, or none at all.

Curious what areas outside of say, Denver, LA, or Seattle, you're referencing where weed shops are as ubiquitous as vape shops or self storage places?

eta- not referring to places that sell CBD products, or head shops and gas stations that sell delta 8 stuff, but actual dispos.
